Predictions for Bucs record and Brady's stats 2022

I don't see the word "guarantee" in there. Nothing is guaranteed.

But I think there's a much better chance for an average HC to win a Super Bowl with a generational talent at QB than the other way around. We saw what Bill did in 2020 with average QB play to put it mildly and it was way short of the Super Bowl.

When he said "they will win" it's pretty much a guarantee...he didn't use the word "likely."

In 2020, Bill had a QB who signed with the team in July, got covid, and didn't know the system. He did much better with a QB in Cassel who was familiar with the Pats offense.

We have seen great HCs win with average QBs like Parcells, Gibbs, Harbaugh, Pederson, Gruden, Kubiak (2015 version of Manning), and Ditka to name a few...

We have also seen great QBs win with average HCs like Brady (w/Arians), Wilson, Aikman (w/Switzer)

But going back to 1980, the list favors great HCs winning with average QBs in terms of number of super bowls won as opposed to the other way around...

For those of you holding onto hope that Gronk is coming back, forget it...he's having his official retirement party in a couple weeks lol.

They didn't make the playoffs either season. They had the greatest passing offense of all-time in 2007 and then they were mediocre in 2008 without Brady. At minimum they would have been 14-2 in 2008 with Brady.

Gronk or no Gronk the Bucs offense will be top 5 in yards and scoring, probably top 3. They're also winning their division and probably getting to the NFCCG. Brady will have +5000 and +40 unless he sits out week 18.

Drafted Brady in my fantasy league. I know his center will be an issue, but that is usually the easiest thing to cover for from a pass blocking perspective. Evans/Godwin/Gage/Jones(who still has something left I believe). Should be pretty fantastic. I'm predicting about what he did last year. 43 TDs 12 Ints 5,200. 17 games inflates things a little and I think they will be trying to win every game this year as the race SHOULD come down the the wire.

As for the Bucs. I see them in a 2 man race with the Rams. who overall got slightly worst this year, while the Bucs overall stayed the same, and maybe slightly improved? It's close. I See both teams finishing 13-4 and it comes down to who wins their head to head.

So? They went 11-5 and had the 5th ranked offense. That's not mediocre. The only thing that is mediocre, however, is your takes.

You can't read. The PASSING offense...

2007:
NFL Rank = 1st
Yards (Brady) = 4806
TDs (Brady) = 50

2008:
NFL Rank = 12th
Yards (Cassel) = 3693
TDs (Cassel) = 21

The difference is significant and the passing offense declined significantly without Brady.

And they were top 5 offense last year and choked.
They wiped out a 25 point deficit... that's the opposite of choking.

No, you need to learn to write. Your original quote...

They = Patriots. If you were referring to the Patriots passing offense, you should have used "it" the third time.

It's choking if you are beaten at home and by an opponent who played on fewer rest days...and it was the Rams fumbling the ball that got the Bucs back into the game, not Brady

Didn't realize I had to spell it out for you in great detail... They had the greatest passing offense of all-time in 2007 and then they were mediocre in 2008 without Brady... they, the Patriots obviously, had a mediocre passing offense without Brady. I'm talking about Brady vs Cassel... so other than the passing offense what else would I be referring to? I'm not comparing their rushing statistics.

Brady had 50 TDs in 2007... Cassel had only 21 TDs in 2008... 29 less. You think that had anything to do with the 5 extra losses and no playoffs?

Choking happens when you lose a game that you should have won (given the circumstances of that particular game). Once the Rams had a 25-3 lead, the Bucs weren't supposed to win the game. The Rams almost choked but they pulled it out in the end (with the assistance of very poor defense by the Bucs). Let's face it, the point you're really trying to make is Brady choked when clearly he did not. In the 4th quarter He was 11-16 (including 5 for his last 5) for 125 yards and a perfectly thrown TD bomb to Evans. Brady's the most clutch player in the history of the NFL... you desperately trying to characterize him as a choker is hysterical.

When the going gets tough the tough get going. That's Tom Brady's mindset.

Most of us here prefer proper English so that we can understand each other..perhaps you should learn to use it.

And despite having a mediocre passing offense, they still finished 11-5 and were a top 5 offense that year. We had Brady from 2005-2013 and it didn't get us any titles. In fact Brady came back in 2009 and played poorly vs the Ravens in the playoffs. And in 2008 the Pats were ranked 5th in offense and when Brady came back in 2009 we were ranked 3rd...just a marginal difference.

Good, we are in agreement. The Bucs were favored by Vegas to win that game and lost, so it was a choke. This is despite having HFA and having to face a team coming off a Monday night playoff game...

The fact that you can't admit that Brady has choked at any point in his career tells me you are nothing but a Brady homer. We've seen him choke plenty of times including SB 42, the biggest game in NFL history. And don't forget about the fumble vs the Eagles when he had the game on the line. He's no Michael Jordan, that's for sure.

+1 +1 +1 +1

It really comes down to the players moreso than the coaches.

Do you think he's lying?

It's called being modest. People do that to deflect praise onto other people. What's Bill supposed to say, "Yeah, they won because of me?" That's going to piss the players off and he's smart enough not to do that.

And do you really think Bill would have meant that after SB 49, especially when Malcolm Butler saved the day thanks to coaching?

I still can't believe there was a 10 year drought. Brady had his fair share of chokes during that time, but Bill played a role in that as well with some really awful roster moves that weakened those teams. Lots of opportunities were wasted.

sure ill admit that… but you can’t argue it’s a players game and take credit only for the wins.

So now you're criticizing Brady for leading a top 3 offense? The no titles from 2005-2013 is on Belichick for too often not having a decent enough supporting cast for Brady. And for the defense choking against Eli twice. Brady was good enough for 9 division titles in those 9 seasons. When is Belichick going to finally win a division title without Brady?? 0-9 and counting. Meanwhile Brady's had his best back-to-back seasons of his career with Bruce Arians.

So that's your definition of choking?... losing a game when Vegas has you favored to win? You don't understand what choking is so let me give you an example... Your team is up by 5 points with 7 seconds left. Your opponent has the ball at their own 31 with enough time for one play. You put your hail mary defense on the field to defend a would be 80-yard bomb from a quarterback with a below average arm. Of course your opponent isn't stupid enough to attempt that pass so they take advantage of your incredibly ill-advised defense with a short pass and laterals. They get through your swiss cheese defense, burn your TE, and score the winning TD with 0:00 on the game clock. That's choking.

True, Jordan only won with his HOF head coach. Brady's proven he can win with a bozo for a head coach.

SB 42... Brady gave them a 4-point lead with only 2:42 left in the game. Was Brady covering Tyree or Burress?

SB 52... That fumble happened when they were down by 5 because the handcuffed defense couldn't hang onto a lead. When a defense is supported by an offense with an SB record 613 yards (505 from the quarterback) and 33 points they should be able to win the game (especially against a backup quarterback). They couldn't because their head coach benched their starting CB who was in uniform and deemed capable of playing on special teams. Who does that? Torpedoes an entire season to prove some nebulous point.

Bill has made that comment many times prior to SB49 and after.

Modest or not, he's not wrong. It is a players game. Great players + mediocre coach can still go a long way. Great coach + mediocre team has a ceiling. See Patriots, 2020.
