OT: Dolphins Owner Steven Ross Suspended, Picks Forfeited, For Tampering With Brady, Payton

Both sides have their responsibility. I always find too easy when the management or the fans put the onus on the employee or the player to always have the right attitude regardless of all the sh*t they have to deal with.

When you come to the point where you piss off the best player in nfl history and the face of the franchise and your best player to the point he doesn’t want to play for you and can’t wait to get out, you deserve some blame too. it’s not like Brady turned down a 150M fully garanteed contract over 5 years to f*ck us.
Too subtle a take for the black and white thinking going in in this thread. We need villains damnit!

Now, I know why it got quiet all of a sudden on this thread...

I had to click on that to see it was real. I can't wrap my mind around Brady's obsession with pulling small-time grifts on his fanbase. He should see someone for that.

The Mark Brunell style emotional anger and outrage over this is a little over the top. There's a no tampering rule. Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes he eats you. We got LaGarette Blount minutes after he walked out on the Steelers. Does anyone think for a minute the Pats and Blount were not winking and nodding ahead of that? Where was all the sanctimonious moral outrage over that?

It went up in smoke, lol.

I mean Bill clearly talked for some time on the field with hunter Henry the year before he sign with us in free agency.

C'mon now. That's not the same as Ross/Beal/TB12 on a yacht and you know it

In that scenario, Brady would probably ended up as a journeyman major league catcher, batting .212 lifetime. I doubt he could have married Bridget, let alone divorced her for Giselle.
Fwiw, Tom and Bridget were never married.

None because there is no evidence and LG was a FA.

We know Tom met with Ross voluntarily while under contract with NE.

I knew there would be a " but this is different" deflection. Yes there are differences but don't be willfully naive. Tampering very likely occured. We benefitted.

It's not a deflection. It's the actual circumstances.

If you want to speculate and make things up go ahead.

You don't think tampering occurred with Blount? I'm not asking if there were legal allegations.
I'm not trying to be evasive but in all honesty I don't know. The Squealers cut him and either LG called NE or upon hearing the news NE called his agent.

I think that scenario is far more likely than LG texting BB and asking for advice on how to shoot his way out of Pitt or BB doing the same in the inverse.

Clearly someone ratted out Ross and Beal given this.......

"NUMEROUS AND DETAILED DISCUSSIONS"

Couldn't be Flores because the league views his version of events as "misunderstood hijinks"

Maybe Don Yee caved given that his highest profile clients were the Dolphin targets
Info and a question....

1) Jimmy Stewart on 98.5 yesterday restated what he had heard on why the post-2019 Brady to Miami exodus never materialized.
To paraphrase: Ross backed out on an agreement that would have placed TB12 Sports Therapy Centers in all Ross' Equinox Fitness Clubs nationwide.

2) We know NFL agents operate under the umbrella of the NFLPA.......so my question is:
Does the NFL Commissioner have any jurisdiction over agents and their actions as well?

I ask given that Don Yee represents both Brady and Sean Peyton and it's highly doubtful Brady himself is negotiating NFL and TB12 contracts. Factor in the NFL's statement regarding the violations notes "numerous and detailed discussions" ....so I'm wondering if Yee, in an effort to preserve his position as a certified NFL agent, spilled the beans to NFL investigators who were exerting leverage on Herr Goodell's behalf.

Ya forums were around but trolls have really honed their craft over the last 22 years and I would say it’s changed a lot since I started posting here

rec.sport.football.college was 100% troll fest in early 90s. Would be no different than today. Good times

He was grousing all season, he was having Meyers benched, he was demanding they acquire vets like AB and Sanu... I doubt entirely he tried less.

He knows how hard it is to win a ring, he was leaving anyway, he knew it and said so a year later on Howard Stern. He was dealing with multiple injuries... his injured O-Line got him beaten up earlier in the season. The offense got worse and worse in 2019 and one can track how they got worse in lockstep with injuries he acquired. Ring or no ring he was leaving, he'd rather have the ring and be gone than not. They just weren't good enough at the end of the season to win.
Not showing up for off season.
Missing tons of practices during the season.
Playing the worst football of his life.
Making business decisions to fall down and heave the ball away when he sees pressure, something he never did before 2019

These are all examples of trying less.
Hey, he could have gone out and taken a knee 100 times in a row and he would still have had the most committed, driven, effort filled career in history.
But the topic is 2019 and anyone being honest knows he wasn’t he same guy.

No. What do you think? Answer man to man, not like a lawyer or a politician.
You want someone who wasn’t there to answer what they think happened in a situation they have no knowledge of? Why?

I don't think Blount texted Belichick for advice on how to shoot his way out of ****tsburgh.... but it is very much in the realm of possibilty that someone associated with the Patriots (not Belichick himself, someone lower on the totem pole) may have had a conversation with Blount's agent and had an off-the-record conversation.... like "hey I am not saying Blount should shoot his way off the Steelers, but if he does then he would find a landing spot in Foxboro.... you know I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'....."
