Eliot Wolf a Finalist for Bears GM Position

It's well documented Kraft complained about the sh**ty drafts the previous 5 years and said it would be a group effort. Bill acknowledged Wolf, Ziegler and the scout took the lead in FAcy and the draft and said they put in a lot of the work. He praised them for their work.
None of that is true. But by all means show me the source that back those comments up.

How did Kraft complain in 2021 and solve it by going back in time to hire a consultant in 2020?

It's my belief that The Wolf was brought in to "clean up" by Kraft. IMO Kraft told Bill that Wolf is going to help (along with others) in providing draft input and Bill WILL be more open to listening to others for the draft. I hope he stays for a long time.

Why do you believe that?

You never want to lose someone who was part of a successful operation, but it is of course hard to determine who was the reason things clicked last draft. I do think the philosophical change to our draft strategy last year was a good thing and will be retained with or without Wolf.

Great 2021 draft compared to mediocrity from 2013-2020. Sanu for a 2nd rounder was Ziegler

Link?

We just need a little bit of proof. I’m sure you can google it and back your statement up in just a matter of seconds.

Kraft did say it was more of a collaborative effort...this is true. However we don't know for a fact how much input each person had. It's just my opinion The Wolf had more input into the draft then some think.

Eliot Wolf no longer a finalist.

Source? It was quoted directly from Kraft and Bill by dozens of sources. This was posted on several threads already including the Wolf/GM one.

So you think Kraft waited until 2021 to realize the sh**ty drafts from multiple years, but was oblivious in 2020? Ok then.

Usually if someone is a great employee, the organization tries to keep them. Looks like Wolf left the Packers for a lateral move to the Browns, and then did not last for his whole contract. Not sure what in those two moves screams this guy is great; typically those type of moves do not indicate excellence. Since your opinion was different I was wondering why. I thought there might be a reason. Yes, Kraft said the drafts were not great because the drafts were not great. Kraft also indicated that in 2021 the draft process was different and the results appear better to me, but after a sample of 1 (n=1) we have no idea if it was the change that improved the draft or if it was random. We have to wait and see. Hopefully whatever it was repeats in 2022.

Yeah...we shall see if the 2022 draft is a very good one as well...then we will see a trend.

Wolf left GB because he lost the GM bid and moved to Browns as an Asst GM. He then left there when he was again going to be passed up for the GM job. He's fairly young at 39, so he's had to pay his dues. His time is coming.

Feels like a certain narrative just took a hit.

So now just minny looking at WOLF.

he is for the Vikings job and I would think he could slide in the Ziegler role elsewhere or here should Ziegler leave.
The bride is gone, time to look at the bridesmaids?

Seems that way. Maybe not this year though.

Looks like Vickings prefer Kwesi Adofo-Mensah

Way too much bs passed on as fact around here. Especially about the draft. When did we stop providing evidence and explaining things in detail? It's really not hard to make an objective argument and be honest about the topic.

Brady very much wanted Sanu.
Who knows. You got a source for that?

Brady probably wanted a bunch of good receivers (which Sanu is not) but the fact remains he had zero input in personnel decisions.

No it wasn’t. What you are saying is not what was quoted.

It was widely reported at the time that Brady lobbied for Sanu and made very positive comments about him coming here.

You're talking to Forrest Gump. Keep that in mind
