OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

AB is going on IR. His camp claiming the ongoing ankle issue sets it up perfectly for Tampa.

Do we? I am not ready to say Mac is the QB of the future. He is very limited skill-wise and cannot drive the ball consistency. When I look at him and compare him to the other young QBs like Burrow, Allen, Mahomes, Herbert - he is no where close to those guys and if Bill does not surround him with A level talent at the WR which we know he won't then I don't see how the Patriots contend with the elite teams of the AFC.

Brady wasn't exactly strong armed either in 2001, and frankly, he still doesn't have the arm of Mahomes or Rodgers. When I see those guys, they flick the ball downfield with ease. Brady lobs his deep throws a lot of times and he seems to put a lot of energy into it. But do you know what? Brady not having tremendous arm strength hasn't stopped him from performing well. Mac is never going to be Burrow or Allen with his arm either. But he can still be an excellent QB.

It was a great drive and if he were Rodgers it would be one of his greatest drives but the man has so many big time drives in Championship games and SBs vs the best teams in the league.
I know. It's like old hat. His main receivers on that drive were Johnson and Grayson.

Trying to use WAR in football is dumb.
I never heard of it until I saw this. I find it interesting that Taylor is having a monster season and yet he's basically replaceable according to this? So does that mean every other player in the NFL is replaceable in this metric?

Manning was great in 2009. No different than Brady winning the MVP in 2017 and this happened...

You have every negative Brady play archived..... Johnny on the spot with them. You are such a troll.

Against the Jete...where was that game winning drive vs New Orleans? Mac demolished the Jete twice this season...no last minute drive necessary.

Mac had a poor game against the Bills a couple weeks ago and literally no game at all the one before that in Buffalo. Brady of course was great against the Bills and threw the game winning TD.

The "this guy did that against that team" thing works both ways....

Brady's arm strength was always excellent, the most underrated part of his game from the very beginning.

I think Mac right now is on the path to becoming a Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith type of quarterback. Or a non injury prone Jimmy. That doesn't have to be a bad thing nor does that mean the Pats made a mistake picking Mac at 15 in the draft. Someone like Smith or Cousins won't elevate a crap team to a good one like Brady could - but they can be great when you surround them with talented players. Alex Smith beat the living crap out of us twice. Cousins is 1-0 as a starter against the Pats. Cousins is a 10 year veteran coming up on 8 seasons as a starting QB. Has a 100+ passer rating in his last 3 seasons including this one. Has a 30:7 TD/INT ratio this year. I don't think any of us would turn our noses up at that if that's who Mac really is. We'll see.

I wouldn't call it excellent. His short to intermediate throws are fine, but his deep throws of 30 plus yards seem like lobs that take a lot longer to get to the receiver than what Rodgers or Mahomes can do. His long passes just don't seem to have that certain "crispness" to them. Because of Rodgers and Mahomes' arms, they can win games when they get the ball with 30 or 40 seconds left/

Those throws are where you need arm strength most of all. Brady has a 315:11 TD/INT on the opponents 10 yard line or less. You need to throw a fastball there almost every time so it gets to the target and not knocked down or picked.

While you need arm strength to get the ball downfield it's not a bad thing to make those throws a rainbow or lob so it goes to the right shoulder and a receiver can outjump the defender to get it.

Why are you so obsessed with dissing the greatest player in franchise history? So demented.

.

IR Brown and bring him back for the playoffs. I predict cooler heads will prevail and he'll be back for the Super Bowl run. All hands on deck. Brady isn't going to be playing forever and they need to do whatever it takes for his 8th ring.

why are you so obsessed with trashing your own team? This is what you do on the main board every day.
