OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

This is why he should be MVP:

This stat (as defined by Pro Football Reference) includes any offensive scoring drive in the fourth quarter or overtime that puts the winning team ahead for the last time. Brady has engineered five such drives this year, which ties Brad Johnson (2001) for the franchise’s single-season record.

Three of those five occurred against playoff teams (Cowboys, Bills, Patriots), with another coming on the road against a team (Colts) virtually assured of reaching the postseason. In two regular seasons, Brady has put together eight game-winning drives for the Bucs, which already ranks sixth in franchise history.

I won't got 99% but for sure it's the most likely outcome but why not IR? Why suspend him at all? Am I missing something with the rule? He can fight both but seems to me IR is the quieter option. He could argue a suspension all day long and possibly even claim that the Bucs cut him last Sunday on national TV so whys how up for practice. It just seems so loud and distracting to suspend him.
If you believe what Arians said AB never said anything about an injury. In this scenario, the McAfee/Bayless report could be right of him being mad at Tom over targets.

Anyone could do it because it's a super team. Brady is a hack.
Look at his winning percentage? .719. Bill is familiar with that and then how it looks when you don't have the GOAT.

BTW, if the Pats go one and done in the playoffs, Bill will be sub .500 without Brady in the post-season at 1-2.

I do believe Arians over AB. I also believe that down 14 points to the Jets tensions were high and he didn't handle him right on the sidelines. I also believe that a grown man shouldn't need to be 'handled'. Here we are though. Hopefully Evans is 100% and Lenny is back!

I believe neither of them. I think the truth is in the middle. Arians never take responsibility for anything. It’s always someone else fault but never his. You can be 100% sure that if the Bucs get eliminated in the playoffs in an embarrassing way Arians will say in the post game presser that Brady was calling the shot all season and he had nothing to do with it.

it’s a classic case of he said, she said. If your a criminal but get set up by a cop, you have 0 chance in court because everyone believes the cop.

and the JETES .... who were playing their own Super Bowl

Even if he does not win MVP, man has Brady shown that Bill was a clown for giving up on him. Look a these past 2 seasons with 40 TDs each and the wins and comebacks and the SB. I agree with Pats1960 that Bill moving off from Brady is by far the worst sports move in Boston sports history.

BTW, I was listening to Bedard yesterday as I enjoy his Tuesday game break downs and I think it was Mazz, compared Mac to Tony Eason. LOL
I have to say, I kind of it see with his poor arm and low energy. Although Mac is tougher but not sure that is saying much when it comes to Eason.

To be fair it worked out for both sides. I don't blame neither side they mutually moved on. We have our QB of the future and Tom still doing Tom things.

The beat reporters for the most part are clowns. The Pats are so lucky to have Reiss, he's actually all about the job. It would be hilarious if he showed up for practice but wasn't he in NY watching NBA games? He doesn't strike me as a dude that will apologize or make the first move. Just IR him. I really don't see what the issue would be with IR since he's got an ankle.

Tampa before Brady has been one of the pits of the football world since 2002. They aren’t getting the best media talent to go down there to work.

There is no more good media talent. They are all there to make themselves bigger 'stars' and to be 'first'. The Reiss' are rare.

Do we? I am not ready to say Mac is the QB of the future. He is very limited skill-wise and cannot drive the ball consistency. When I look at him and compare him to the other young QBs like Burrow, Allen, Mahomes, Herbert - he is no where close to those guys and if Bill does not surround him with A level talent at the WR which we know he won't then I don't see how the Patriots contend with the elite teams of the AFC.

Brady wouldn't do anywhere near what he is doing in Tampa with the players in NE. This is why Tampa/Brady is scrambling now to make sure AB stays in Tampa. He needs his weapons at this point in his career. Pats1960 is an 80 year old...do you really want to listen to him?

A more thorough summary vs. the earlier PFT report of why AB remains on the roster:

Tampa's reticence to open a can of worms with the league over the REAL truth is understandable, but few coverups last forever:
