OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

But he's probably going to want to go for the 1,000 yards.
He almost has to as it is his claim to fame for the HOF. Otherwise, he hasn't had enough years as a dominant WR(with just 1 plus 2 very good years) and not enough probowls and no Allpro.

I wonder if Bill still thinks he could have won championships with any top 15 QB. Jones is ranked right about middle of the pack this year.

Take out AB injured or suspended and from a purely football perspective, he is a top 3.

This year, Evans was a top 15-20 and Godwin was around 5. When they were all playing together, AB was outplaying them on less snaps.

Then you watch the replays and he passes the eye test. He just schooled Gilmour.

You would put AB over Adams, Kupp, Jefferson, Samuel, Hill, Chase, Godwin, Allen, and Diggs? LOL

Based on scoring offense, defense, TO & Pt differential:

1. Bills
2. Cowboys
3. Bucs
4. Chiefs
Point differential is really a more accurate ranking on how well a team has played all year. The NFL ranking system is dumb.

GB have not really been good as advertised, squeeking by on very close wins. They could have easily lost several games and they wouldn't have been much different than the Vikings who have been having the opposite luck. Point differential shows to some degree that GB should not be considered the favorite.

I thought last year's Green Bay team was better than this year's version.

Rankings by O scoring / D scoring / TO differential/ Pt differential:
Team 1: 13/13/1/11
Team 2: 2/9/7/3

Which one is the #1 seed

The Falcons are currently 7-8 with a -122 point differential which is one of the most crazy stats I’ve ever seen.

A healthy AB is top 5 WR. I wouldn't say he's top 3 that's stretching it. Out of the guys you mention if we are talking this year and next I'm taking a healthy AB over Kupp, Chase, Godwin, Allen and Diggs. If we are talking 3 years or more no way I'm taking AB over your list.

Team 1. You gave it away as GB is not in top 4 in point differential.

I'd commented here how he pantsed Gilmore. But football is a game of matchups and Gil is best suited to covering the taller wideouts. AB's quick style is harder for taller Gilmore to cover. I'd put AB easily as a top 10 receiver; good enough to win another Lombardi with the present cast. Tampa's weaknesses are defensive backfield, pass catching RBs (without Fournette) and special teams.

You're not giving your reasoning lol So this is just my opinion you can disagree

Kupp is having an all time season, but I think he's a product of McVays system

Chase is a rookie I need to see more like we all did with Jefferson

Godwin when both were on the field together, AB was the main target

I'm assuming Keenan Allen he's really good , but I feel healthy AB has been better than him and Diggs

I guarantee you that Brady would dump AB in a heartbeat if it meant getting anyone of those players I mentioned...

AB is a different beast. Again, I think a good comparison (at this stage of his career) is Steve Smith. He can be an absolute ****ing headache if your plan is to put your #1 corner on him (think 2014 AFCCG when Smith burned Revis and see last weeks performance of AB vs. Gilmore).

If you have a corner like Ramsey, Alexander, or Lattimore, they're going to be able to cover more traditional players like Evans or Godwin. But AB is really quick. When he's healthy, he's going to be a huge problem out in space.

What AB doesn't do as well, partly due to his small size, is provide consistent, mid range targets that move the chains. He isn't, like Godwin, a guy who can use his strength and size in the middle of the field, extend/push for those extra three yards for the first down. He's not very good on those quick screens either. He's a lot more boom-or-bust.

But just to show the difference, look at the height/weight of these guys. AB is 20-25 pounds lighter and 2-4 inches than them (besides Diggs, who is indeed more similar to AB as he relies more on quickness).

Allen - 6'2", 211
Cupp - 6'2", 208
Godwin - 6'1", 208
Diggs - 6'0", 191

Brown - 5'10", 185

Mike Evans returned after practice to run some routes for practice squad QB Ryan Griffin as trainer Bobby Slater looked on. Evans had been on the COVID-19 list since Monday.

Bucs WR Mike Evans is back at the AdventHelath Center running routes for Tom Brady as Bobby Slater looks on. He looks ok but very fatigued easily. Would assume he’s out of COVID-19 protocol.

Positive sign. Don’t play him until the playoffs regardless.

On that subject...

Mike Evans needs only 101 receiving yards to reach the 1,000-yard plateau for the eighth straight season, expanding his NFL record. But no word yet if he'll play Sunday.

Aside from the GOAT, we spotted just about every prominent, available #Bucs player at practice. #Gronk was out there, so were the RBs (minus Lenny) and all starting d-linemen and o-linemen.

Tom Brady is EXACTLY 22 years older than Zach Wilson. They face off on Sunday. WILD.
