Man in the Arena Discussion

I didn't enjoy that Super Bowl weekend. Not after T***se wrote a fabricated story about the team. Completely sucked all the fun out of it. Instead of being excited and celebrating the Pats being on the verge of history instead we heard people like Steve Young and others in the pregame trashing the Patriots for cheating. That was not fun at all. And then after the outcome and hearing the country celebrating our demise and still talking about cheating was a lot to handle. Nope can't say I care to experience that again.

I was vacationing with daughter & family in FL so I missed all the pre-game brouhaha. Watched the game with increasing sense of dread. Next morning took everyone to Disney. Arriving at the pool Monday it was full of NYers who somehow had Giants SB victory caps. Ruined the pool experience.

While I hate the result, I see 42 as an honest loss. The G-Men managed to disrupt the Pat's O with consistent, effective pressure up the middle with their front four. Yes, there were a call or two (or non-call if you will) that mattered some, but that happens every game. The helmet catch was an oddity, but indicative of the defense getting older. 2003/04 Rodney would never have let that catch happen, either with a wicked hit or making the adjustment pre-snap they new had to be made.

I am glad this is on the main forum and hope it says the rest of the way. To have all of our SB years chronicled is pretty special and one in which I want to hear everyone's thoughts.

This is really wonderful to hear. Bill gives high praise to Brady at the start of this video regarding this Man in The Arena segment. These guys have really moved on and just appreciate each other. Hopefully we all can too, myself included.

I dunno if I'm unique in this or not, but honestly I don't really care that much about Brady anymore. Like I'll always love him for what he did for this franchise and think he's the GOAT and all that, but he's gone and Mac has helped me move on. I haven't watched any of this and probably won't. Especially the episode about the game that shall not be named.

My daughter was 4 that year and she went to bed before the game ended. Every morning for another 2-3 weeks she would ask me if the Patriots won the game. We still have a poor relationship.

I forgot how bad the Asante Samuel drop was.

between 42 & 46 I’ve just come to acceptance we weren’t meant to beat the giants in the super bowl. Just isn’t meant to be, insane catches for them, drops for us.

On a side note, Watching this made me think of how triggered I’m going to be when 52 rolls around. ****ing Philly special ugh.

Tyree was Asante’s man so he should have been covered.

Are there ways to watch this without having to take on another streaming service? One run by ESPN, no less?

Looks like Brady is going to win the MVP this year at that age. Love it! Just adding to the legacy.

It's early in the morning, but let's see how long before the self-righteous poosay brigade can demand their safe space be cleansed of BRADY.
Take it episode by episode. Way back when, New England lost a super important SB, here's your memories - I mean, that belongs. How great TB (read that how you want) is doing in '21? That's not a Patriots forum thing. Actually, I wouldn't MUCH care if it were, but them's the rules.

Me neither.

All this self-produced Brady content is a turn off. It's like he's building a shrine to himself. I understand he is capitalizing on his brand while he still can but enough already.

I'll have affection for Brady until the day I die but I support the Patriots not TB12.

I am surprised this is not getting played more in the anti-Brady/anti-Patriots media. I figured they would yelling how this was cheating the Patriots tampered with Moss and colluded with him to shoot his way out of town.

In this episode, did Brady admit that pissing off the Giants prior to the game with his "we're only going to score 17 points? Hehehehe, is Plax going to play defense" line was a mistake? Because I can't see Bradyite Gotham Chopra bringing it up in the interview. Probably the single biggest unforced error of SB 42.

Except you haven't moved on...you are rooting for the Bucs. And you and SB1 whine from time to time, like in the Buffalo GDT last week, about how Bill should have kept Brady. That's not moving on...
