If OBJ is released by the Browns and is unclaimed, do you want him in NE on the cheap? (Update: Signed by Rams)

Do you know knows about Beckham (past and present), Mac, this current Pats’ roster and its needs and the current locker room environment much, much, much better than anyone on this board? William Stephen Belichick.

His track record bringing of established veterans who end up buying in and fitting in is unsurpassed, so please excuse me if I ignore any woefully uninformed opinions that are spewed in this thread about why it would be a huge mistake to sign OBJ.

If Odell didn't come with the whole sideshow and was cheap I would say why not? That is not the case. I don't want him in the huddle/locker room with our rookie QB. I don't want to see his dad posting videos of Mac not throwing him the ball in 2 months from now. If Brady was here I would say no doubt bring him in but Mac just doesn't have that gravitas as a rookie QB and seems like more of an "Aww shucks! Gee wiz!" type right now.

LOL, Mac will be just fine. He's not going to get hurt by Odell acting like a diva. How sensitive can people get on this board? We are talking about Belichick here, who has a great track record of dealing with these types. If Odell can't cut it here, he won't cut it anywhere. and if BB cuts him, then very few teams would be interested in signing him. He has an incentive to be on his best behavior.

I think OBJ is nuts but he's definitely more talented than any of our WRs. Agholor isn't cutting it. We need a deep threat player like OBJ to open up the field. This O won't get far into the playoffs counting on Bolden, Harris and Rham. Work it out Bill and don't over complicate play book for him. Let him run go routes and deep crossers and let Mac chug it. OBJ will get open. Ds need to start respecting 20+ yd passes or team won't go far. Imo
I think the thing that gets me OFF of OBJ is that he is an "imprecise route runner". That's a problem when your offense is built around having PRECISE route runners, Add to that he has been a lockerroom problem in Cleveland AND NY, he isn't the same guy he was with the Giant, he can't stay on the field, and he'll want top WR money for 2022. Finally Felger is all in on OBJ and gives an honest reason why, "content". OBJ's signing will be great for the media because he will give them HOURS of content (which is all THEY care about)

That's a fair point, and a not insignificant distinction.

I won't argue your second paragraph there. When he's pulling in the same direction as everyone, he has a skill set that no one else on this team has currently. There's no question he would be a benefit to this team talent wise. And I certainly won't be calling for BB's head if they sign him. Just voicing some concerns so people can make fun of me later if he signs and works out great
I have concerns as well. He has a track-record on odd behavior and being a disruption.

1. The “precision“ thing is overblown on both sides. Its football. Coaching..

2. Its a mid season pickup. No big $ involved, no future gtd, take a flyer and if it doesnt work spit it out.

3. Its a group (WR) that can use some competition.

Not a fan but understand the interest.

Bedard: “I think, the way I would term it is, I think they feel that they have a pretty good chance at landing him,” Bedard said. “Considering Belichick, where this team is going, some of the veteran leadership on this team. I think they feel they’re in a good position to land Odell.”

Even the army wants him here

Sign him Bill!
Its also a small airport for private non commercial planes
THe source seems really suspect though and I know he has tweeted bogus rumors before. I do not believe it is true for one second

Flew into an Air Force base?
Clearly he meant Hanscom field, same place effectively, and lots of out of town football players fly in through that place.

That said, who is this guy and how do we know he’s not full of it? Has Erika Leigh confirmed this?

Why would OBJ fly to an Air Force Base

"Hanscom Field's traffic is primarily business jets and general aviation aircraft."
