PostGame Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Jets

Immediate Postgame Reactions
Mac did enough. Receivers let him down a couple times when he tried to stretch the field. I liked his attitude and like that he wasn't happy with this performance even though it was good enough. I like it when my quarterback makes it clear that good enough is not good enough.
I think he will soon have a breakout 4 TD like game like he did in his days in Alabama. Maybe next week, but it’ll come soon. He’s too good for it not to happen soon.

I think he can do more but it's not his fault imo. The Offensive Coordinator needs to let the chains off soto speak. Let him go out there and do his thing. There will be failures. There will be successes. But that's life as a rookie QB.

So... unrelated. I think the Bucs had a secret meeting and said "We're getting that passing TD record this year." Lots of passes in obvious goal line run situations.

Back on top: Mac yet again had a deep pass broken up cause his WRs couldn't get seperation. We really need to address that next year. It is the one glaring hole on this team. That headline player on offense. If we want to go to the promised land in the near future, we need that guy. It would just make the offense really gel and put everyone else in their proper match up.

Also, we need to give JJ Taylor more chances. He didn't do much this game but didn't get many chances. Only 2 touches with no space. I want to see him given a real shot. This team lacks big play potential and that is making it hard to score points.

A couple stray thoughts:

Judon doesn’t quite get the BB defense yet. For all his preseason splash, the ONE play I outright noticed him this game in real season: was when he had perfect position with outside contain on Zach Wilson and he proceeds to run straight ahead with no angle and loses contain -instead of sack or no gain, 1st down. …. Yuck

Defensive tackling seemed atrocious. Stat line says 152 yards rushing and ALL FOUR runners (incl Wilson) had a 10+ yard rush. ….Yuck

Jones threw another one in the dirt he should have just hook slid and lived to throw another day. Last week live ball, this week an int. ground penalty . BUT. … If this is the worst freshman flops that we get this season we can certainly live with it. compared to 4 Int outings. LOL

Berrios seemed like 60% of the Jete offense. Former Patriot that we couldn’t keep around. Can’t remember who we kept instead, but truly sad he landed with THEM. Yuck.

on the Harris TD run, I wanted to point out last week that one reason he lost the ball was he was all alone with 6-7 defenders on him holding him up as they tore at the ball. Nobody ran forward to help. This week 4 guys up there pushing the pile… I would call that good coaching.

huh, Judon has been one of the best players for us so far. The Jets were running away from him today, where Van Noy would usually be. That's where they had success. Judon is the least of our problems.

I wish the reins came off. Even if it means an int, at least we get to see what he’s got. Push that ball down the field.

A win is good, but, I wonder if the OC & BillB want to ease in Jones (less throws, more runs)?

At some point you will need Mac to throw passing TDs.

Why? They won the game. The game plan and adjustments in game were fine, the idea is to win.

Could be why I didn’t notice him otherwise ( while watching on my cell phone screen). (Plus I certainly don’t claim to be an analyst).

But you have to admit, that one play was bad

jeezus krist...it's been TWO games...lay off the "Knower Of Things" symposium DKF....everyone else is just as proficient judging the Patriots play from their armchairs as you are. Your "all or nothing!!" critiques preclude any chance of improvement from these players you despise...perhaps YOU should slow your roll until we have a larger sample to work from

Forgot to mention, JC Jackson needs a new contract.

Have to review the film but I saw it the other way. Hightower was playing on the edge most of the day and I remember a lot more runs to Judons (weak) side that HTs. But it’s just an impression without watching the film. I’ll look for that.

Edit: also a lot came inside the Ts
