Really poor defense. No one hit Gronk coming off the line to disrupt the timing and the pass rusher barreling down on Brady did a really poor job extending his arms to block the passing lane.

I think that might have been a blown coverage. Lawrence just saw Gronk rushing free without anyone to pick him up and decided to pursue him rather than rush Brady.
