Patriots Player Departure Pats trade Sony Michel to LAR

So much complaining about past decisions, not much realization that we're now good enough to have to cast off a back of Sony's talent just for a 4th because we'd get nothing for him in a few weeks.

Per usual, Deus is wrong. Sony could and DID catch the ball at the NFL level. The irony is that Deus states why the Patriots didn't use Sony's ability on a regular basis (James White).

All you've done, Deus, is shown you don't know what you're talking about. AGAIN.
Just here for the “oh snap”.

26 catches for 258 yards in 3 years. Yes he’s a regular Jerry Rice in the backfield.

Posters won’t agree, but I’ve always thought that picks like Sony, Stork, and Mitchell - since they played huge parts in SB seasons, were good picks. Of course, Sony being taken in the first round doesn’t equate to mid round picks used on the two others.

AMEN !!
Most of the posters on this board are like my ex wife. Always bringing up stuff that happened 2/3 years ago and not letting go to where she could never be happy today !!

too bad we ignored UGA's depth chart

chubb would have given us everything Sony did in 2018 postseason plus another 5-6 years of all pro numbers ...1500 yards 15 TDS per year

let’s be honest..newspaper boy Johnny could have run through some of those wide open holes in 2018 postseason

these guys get paid millions of dollars. They scouted the university of Georgia backfield and drafted the one who is far less talented

They were fine picks because they played key roles in helping the team win SBs.

Some of the clowns on this board expect every draft pick to play 10 years and be an All-Pro.

Misaligned expectations are abound.

Thanks for proving my point. This team (today) is really good. The running game is going to be powerful (RB's and OL) which will shorten games and the defense will at least be ok (it will be Parcells ball !). In close games the team that is best in the last 5 min of a game wins ! Which is Endurance and Preparation. But you still want to focus on 2/3 years ago.

Lets play it out Mr. Hypothetical.

They would have won the same number of SBs and traded Chubb after 2020 because his contract demands were too high. No way the Pats pay him what CLE did. Harris and Rham are fine.

In terms of measuring team success, drafting Chubb over Sony would have been a net-nothing.

Last month a bunch of youse guys were wondering what Bill's "surprise camp cut/move" would be...NOW you have your answer. Moving on....

Hey, southern RI can't say "youse guys", that is reserved for those from Worcester. Stay in your lane.

Chubb signed with browns 3 years 36 million , 20 guaranteed.

thats very affordable for a top 3 all pro back in nfl. We would have paid

Anyone who contributes significantly to a title is a worthwhile pick.
