Julio Jones (June 6 Update - Traded to the Titans)

Dang a first round pick and a player seems a lot for Julio. The Rams who I thought were serious contenders for Jones are reportedly out, I think it’s between the Pats and Titans. Next 24 hours will be fun to watch.

Sounds as we get closer to June 1st, more teams become interested....

Not sure if Atlanta plays Seattle this year but I’d be surprised if Atlanta trades him to an NFC team, anything can happen though.

If this rumor is true the Falcons have to be taking on some of Jones salary in a deal. I’m not sure how that would work but if the Pats give up a first they need to retain enough cap space to keep Gillmore.

Pats currently have enough cap space to take on his entire salary for 2021 without getting rid of a player. Then they can restructure to give him more money up front and spread it over a few years and it would only be a $6m cap hit for this year.

Seahags should be focusing on defensive players. Their defense can’t stop a nosebleed. Secondary will be a weakness.
Seeing Seattle rumored annoys me considering they already have Metcalf and Lockett, drafted Eskridge, and signed THREE undrafted wide receivers. That position should be the least of their concerns.

Maybe it’s just my perception but it feels like Pats fans more than any other fan base place more value on our mediocre to bad players when trying to come up with trade deals than any other team. Why would the Falcons want Sony? Or Harry? And if the entire goal of the Falcons is to shed payroll because it’s tanking time then the last player they want is Gillmore who they’d have to offer a new top of the market contract.

Falcons are frantically pumping out stories in hopes of driving Julio's price up. That's what I'd bet. Doesn't seem like there's a true market for him from the limited info we do get...or atleast a market Falcons are happy with.

1 day he's a sure shot patriot...next day rams are trading Van Jefferson plus picks...then it's the titans..then Seahawks/Ravens. Usually means they (falcons) are desperately trying to create/alter the market for their return.

Wouldn't be shocked if it was just the titans and pats in it and that both teams are sticking to their original offers and not budging and neither team is close to asking price.

Think about it..if the falcons were getting the return they wanted the trade would have been agreed verbally and Schefter/Rappaport would have broke news. They are hoping someone takes bait and just gives up the farm.

Even if they had someone offer their asking price Falcons would be dumb to stop trying to improve the deal before it was actually signed sealed and delivered. No reason they would announce it or stop working to better it before June 1.

That is exactly what is going to happen. The Pats were always pretenders to get Jones.

For several years, their market has been determined by irrational methods. They’re very hesitant to take on Julio Jones’s salary but just paid close to that, and a longer commitment, to three guys who are closer to cleaning Jones’s jockstrap than playing at his level.

Anyone have a rumor from a friend in the know?

I am going to the Bruins game tomorrow night only to meet the great Mo Chanel and get him to autograph my left Butt-cheek (my better side) . I will ask him for any updates from his “sources”.

Autographs. Lol. This f*cking guy.

By this point I do believe it would have been announced.
