Falcons open to trading the number 4 pick.

FACT Fields threw to his first read less than any QBs in this draft. And he was more successful on non first read throws than any of them.
Literally the reason you don’t like fields is 100% backward and if that’s your criteria you actually like fields.
Fair assessment Cousin, but my issue is the number of picks we would have to move up to get Fields.....who in my worthless opinion.....is overrated. In evaluation, it was noted by some so called Draft "experts" that Darnold would be the third QB taken if he was in this 2021 Draft. So Lawrence, Wilson and Darnold.

Would you trade two number #1 picks and two #2 picks for Darnold? If I am "buying the groceries" , I have seen the tape. I don't know whet everyone sees in Fields. I am missing something. I still see a typical OSU QB and here is the shocker, Haskins might have had the better arm.

Again I will say. If we get him, fine. He is just not my cup of tea. I see things that you don't.

A step further, as much as I hate Mond's terrible completion number and inconsistencies, I would rather keep our picks and grab Mond in the 4th Round. I like Davis and Trask better. Any of them better than Fields? Perhaps not at this time........ but you look at the tape on Trask and compare it to Fields and if you could stand pat and not have to give up picks, you might consider Trask. Trask had more yards, more TDs passing and a completeion rate about the same. ..........Just for comparison purposes.

My two would be Lance perhaps at Detroit's #7 and our pick #46 (fair according to the Draft Trade charts) or the under the radar Davis with no picks involved at #46 or #96.

My opinion for fun only. No bones need be broken or households torched.

I think Fields is underrated at this point but it's insanity to give up multiple 1st round picks to move up to 4. This is something our moronic OC would do, like trading up for Tim Tebow in the first round and decimating the entire Broncos roster. DO NOT mortgage the future to move up 10 spots and take the 4th QB left. Get the best defender at their respective position at 15, there should be multiple enticing prospects still there.

I could see the Pats trading up a couple/few spots to grab Pitts or some other true blue chipper. Not to 4, but to ten if one of their top prospects drops that far.

If it's to give up say one of our comp picks to move up a little, OK. There are only a couple worth doing that for. For the best guys at their position on defense, maybe an offensive tackle if the 2nd one is still left, maybe Pitts only because he's touted as a generational TE (but then again we just spent huge $ on 2 expensive new tight ends). No wide receivers worth trading up for. Would have to think if Devonta is there at 15. I actually hope Waddle gets drafted early so I can stop reading silly posts about how we should take this bust/risky injury-prone player pick.

Just IMO, of course, but I'd do a little trade up for Pitts, Horn, maybe Sewell. That's it. A big trade-up ONLY for a QB (I think it'd be Lance for the Pats).

For LB, Parsons and Collins would both work, and one of them will almost certainly be there. There are at least 2 others worth picking, as well.
For DT and Edge, are there really any higher than 15?
The OL and WR classes look deep, and I don't worry too much about OL with the Pats. Sewell, if they think he's as good as some draftniks say, might be worth it.
No safeties worth it, nor RBs, of course.
I like Horn a lot (but Farley might be worth grabbing if he falls out of the first).

So in a roundabout way, I guess what I'm saying is that I think they'll trade down absent someone they gotta have. I know it's ridiculous to think in terms of what actually happens, but playing with the simulators, trading down, sometimes more than once, and bouncing around to get a lot of picks between 32-100, and I'm finding what looks like a wide infusion of several very promising prospect (using Bacon's board as my primary guide).

But man, staying pat (no pun intended) really bares the cupboard fast, particularly if that second rounder winds up being a QB. You get a Parsons, Paye, or Collins at 15, then maybe a decent DT or OL guy at 96. Painful to watch all the names come off the board.

My viewpoint is that this team is going nowhere until it gets a QB The chances of a guy like trask or mills becoming that guy are too slim to just hope. They are going to get drafted that much later because of their skill level.
The top 5 QBs have a skillset that gives them a much, much higher chance at success and a much much higher ceiling. Taking one of them is taking a legitimate shot at solving the QB problem. Taking the others is just a low chance hope that almost surely doesn’t solve the problem.
If you arent going to solve the problem it doesn’t really matter what you do with these picks you are reluctant to trade to solve the problem. A QB-less team will wallow in mediocrity.
As far as fields, he without question has the big time arm. Arm strength, all the throws and accuracy. He is tough as nails. He has excellent mobility. He has every tool. What you don’t know, and you don’t know this about any QB including Lawrence is how they learn, get coached, absorb it and adjust to the NFL.

I question what you think you see that I don’t because you question
1) that he played at Ohio state despite him being different in pretty much every way than any other OSU QBs
2) you call him Haskins and he is nothing like Haskins and has played in an entirely different system
3) you say he is a one read qb when the actual facts and tape say the polar opposite compared to every other QBs in the draft. He relied the LEAST on first read of every QBs in this draft. If you “see things” you wouldn’t get this totally backwards.

And if we trade up to get one of the five and ALSO draft another QBs from the second tier, that would be genius.
There is one glaring problem and one opportunity left to address it. Otherwise we tuned up, washed and waxed and fuel up the vehicle but flushed the keys down the toilet

You know, since you bring it up in almost every draft thread, maybe you'd like to explain how our "moronic" OC drafted both Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker in a single draft class. I think we'd be over the moon if we got that kind of WR production.

Yeah let's do this, do you want to get into the long history of epically disastrous personnel moves which resulted in an entire Denver fanbase hating the guy, losing 10 games in a row before being fired, and showing a complete lack of talent evaluation skill? Given we still have 2 John Carroll low IQ voices in the war room, absolutely no way should we package picks up for ANY player. These guys going after NKeal Harry with a 1st, Sanu for a 2nd, Michel with a 1st rounder, is enough destruction already. The only positions we draft well with credibility are Front-7 Defense and OLine. Do the exact opposite of whatever our John Carroll staff says when it comes to evaluating offensive talent. Cross Mond entirely off our draft boards.

Please NO. I have no interest in any DKF opinion on Josh McDaniel's drafting at the Patriots or the Broncos. Please spare us.

Yes show us the long list of personnel moves McDaniels made in his 1 1/2 years. Be sure to include decker and Thomas, and getting rid of the garbage that was jay cutler. Of course you won’t do that and will spew you typical bs.

Tom Brady > Multiple 1st round picks
Patrick Mahomes > Multiple 1st round picks
Peyton Manning > Multiple 1st round picks
etc...

If you get the QB right, it's worth the picks. That should be obvious to everyone.

You didn't answer the question.

We should absolutely not even consider packing multiple picks to trade-up for bust offensive players because our talent evaluation is terrible except for being able to select prospects at front-7 defense and OLine. Skip every other position. Zero confidence in talent evaluations coming from John Carroll staff.

Not sure who is worse?

The guys who say "I watch film" who might as well be watching Sesame Street or DKF. There are plenty of other hobbies for the first group. Draft stuff ain't for everyone.
DKF might be the first person I put on ignore here. That doesn't solve the problem of him spamming threads though. Mods are taking a L here. You guys have intervened over a lot less. No one would miss him and it's obvious he's just a troll. Punt him.

A sample of the genius in your favorite articles.
Their second number one draft pick, by way of San Francisco, Philadelphia, Dallas and New England, ended up being WR Demaryius Thomas.

Oft-injured, Thomas has been a Grade A bust. If injuries werenât insulting enough, Denver chose the former Georgia Tech receiver over Dallasâ Dez Bryant, who has already developed into an elite playmaker on offense and special teams.

I was listening to a podcast with Albert Breer and Trent Dilfer. Nobody knows the Shanahans better than Trent. While stressing that he has no inside information, Dilfer thinks it's more likely the 49ers take Fields over Jones, although neither would surprise him

Enjoyed your last paragraph Cousin.
If any of these QBs has to be inserted in 2021 we are in trouble by injury or poopyness (is that a word?). i.e. Hope we don't have to roll one of them out.

I'll try to find the video of Shannon Sharpe who recently said on his show that nobody in the building liked McDaniels. I can't remember what the reasons were.
