“Don’t want a running QB. You won’t win with them”

Patrick Mahomes says Hi....
Mahomes isn't a running qb. Mahomes is a qb who can run. Rodgers is a qb who can run. Wilson is a qb who can run. Lamar Jackson is a rb who can throw, or a running qb.

The problem with not trading up is this; will they pick this high next year or the year after?

Let's assume they improve this year, as we think they should. Even if next years class is better, talented QBs with high potential never fall far outside of a few rare exceptions like Rodgers. You really need to trade up in the top 10 picks to have a shot. It won't get easier. So if the Pats don't trade up this year, there really is no point in ever trying to trade up.

Look at our first round picks the last 8 years. I will be happy to mortgage that kind of future to get a qb.

here they are for the record.
2020 none traded down
2019 Nkeal Harry
2018 Isaiah wynn
Sony Michel.
2017 none traded to rent a week for a year
2016 none taken away
2015 Malcolm brown
2014 Dominique Easley
2013 none traded down

I would trade all 8 for a shot at a franchise QB. Is there anyone who rather have those 8 picks?
QB4 ain’t gonna cut it either. That’s where your argument is wrong. Giving up assets for a bust is crazy. You can’t say I’m giving up three 1’s for my franchise qb. There is zero guarantee qb4 is a franchise qb.

None of those picks were anywhere near 15. I hope 5 qb’s go before 15. We will get a very good player

You build up your roster and trade for a quarterback when it makes sense. The world isn’t going to end after 2021. The New England Patriots will exist and play games. You don’t give up three firsts for a power ball ticket

So how do you get a qb. If you aren’t willing to pay the price for one what do you do? You aren’t winning without a good QB

The longer BB waits...the harder it may be to get a high quality QB...however it's only March. The first game is in September.
Dude that's 6 months away.

By this time 60 days from now we will have a damn good idea who the 2021 QB will be.

Jimmy G damn near won a Super Bowl 13 months ago. I would try to get him. Or, if Miami gets Watson. Check on Tua. He’ll prob go to Houston as part of trade.

BB could trade the Jags his boat, Linda, and the dog and all our draft picks and jags STILL wouldn’t trade away pick of Lawrence....

Agreed and I’ve said as much elsewhere.

Jimmy works for a competitor and they want to keep him. When they don’t other teams will try to trade for him. Tua lol. What do you think he will cost? He was drafted 9 last year so probably the same as trading up to 9. And he’s not available.
so your plan is hope and pray?

Absolutely, he could bring a QB from Germany or something. He loves them germs. Isn't Manziel available from the Zappers? LMAO

Here are your qb 4’s over the last 10 years

2011 Christian Ponder
2012 Brandon Weeden
2013 Matt Barkley
2014 Derek Carr
2015 Sean Mannion
2016 Christian Hackenberg
2017 Deshone Kizer
2018 Josh Rosen
2019 Drew Lock
2020 Jalen Hurts

Which one ya’ll want to give up three 1st rounders for?

Hope and pray is qb4. Check my list out

its only march. there are still alot of dominoes to fall. The Niners traded to #3 because there is someone they ABSOLUTELY want. and know he will be there at #3 and they paid a hefty price to do so.

perhaps the Patriots don't have anyone they absolutely want after the top 3 and there are a few guys they view in the similar mold. If thats the case it only makes sense to see what happens, if guys fall in the draft they like they may move up. Theres hype ever year that every rookie QB is a star or a stud. in reality we find out alot of these guys end up being JAG's or busts. imagine we trade 3 #1s up to 4 to get someone we arent enamored with and they end up being dwayne haskins. alot of the same posters will be calling for bills head.

With Jimmy G, the niners are playing hardball wanting to see if anyone will overpay for an oft-injured QB. They have no urgency to trade him now. But the team has no urgency to give up a first for a guy who's stock has only gone down since he was traded for a #2. and worst case scenario will be available in a year.

You've got to let go of the drama. Wow ... you want to act like a stood up Prom Queen willing to throw away her virginity to prove a point? That's freaking crazy.

Guaranteed BB is not ignoring any team need. What in the hell are you talking about? It's craziness.
Yea, would like to be a fly on the wall to see him screaming at Bill Belichick in front of his mirror.

Wait, Bill's pimping Linda for a QBOF? Hahahahaha, you guys.

Bills current thought process, in my opinion:

Cam Newton is the now.
Stidham might be the future.
Round 2 QB (Kellen Mond) to compete with Stidham in case he doesn't develop.

Only two things can change this, 1- sign Garropolo or 2 - sell the farm for Pick 4/5

I honestly can't see him selling the farm for a best of the rest choice.

Not really. He could trade into 2022, to get another #1. With two #1s he would have the capital to move up.

not to mention Kirk Cousins was a 4th rounder, Russell wilson was a 3rd rounder, Dak prescott was a 4th rounder, Jimmy G was a 2nd rounder. Llamar Jackson was a late 1st rounder. If their drafts were re-done those guys would be top 10 picks. and there are a bevy of top 10 picks who have been failures.

This idea that good QB's only are found in the top 10 is just not true. Generally if you draft one of the "top 6 QB's in any given draft you have a chance. all the guys listed above were in the top 6

it just happens this year there is alot of teams looking for a QB so the top 6 may all go in the top 10-15
