Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

There is plenty to risk.

Would you go to a professional masseuse if they have falsely accused a male client of sexual assault? There would certainly be actions taken against their license as well for that behavior.

If this is some scheme being cooked by the lawyer, evidence would be their and conspiracy to defame would definitely be a legal matter and grounds for being removed from the Bar
Still don't see risk.

No one will know or remember who the "victims" were in a couple months. You'd have no idea your masseuse had done this.

The lawyer? In his likely circle of clients and fellow Texan fans... he's probably a hero.

On second thought... yeah he's a scumbag. Fry him!

Joke.

Even if the Jets are out of the running, I still am currently in DW's corner.

PS my sister in law is a masseuse and has had a male client request a happy ending. It's an unpleasant part of the job and no working professional should be requested such a thing.
Not taking sides here but you're the second poster that has a masseuse family member saying they've been asked for a happy ending. I would think this is more common than people realize in this industry.

I wonder how many of these dozen women were asked or faced a similar situation in the past. Did they sue those clients for going over the line or making them feel uncomfortable?

I would assume the masseuse industry will see an effect of these lawsuits. I don't recall hearing about something like this before. Will men be leery of getting a massage and god forbid they get a HO, they could get sued or does this only happen to guys worth $40M/yr.

So if you commit a crime and there are no cameras it never happened?
In this country? Exactly. If you can't prove it happened it didn't. What's the alternative, trial by combat?

What is the context here?
This man is a serial flasher and went and did his thing at rally of women because he’s a freak and that’s what happened next.

I disagree.

I doubt the lawyer or women face any consequences. Especially in a civil matter.

Again I'm not saying DW is innocent no matter what. All I know are the facts I listed above and that leads me to lean towards DW now.
Meaning as of now, there's ZERO effect on his career.
How I wish that was true. These things have a way of following a man around even when there's mountains of evidence that the accusations are utter tripe.

Agreed. I was just speaking about my opinion there.

Sorry for the lack of clarity.

do we know where he got these massages - found these masseuse's ?

bottom line is, if you're a high profile client like this, you go through the team's resources, you schedule with someone they know, you don't bring them into your home, you try and get this done at team facilities if you can..........at the very least he's guilty of leaving himself open to this sort of thing

so either he's a dumb ass who left himself open to this........or he's sketchy and was bouncing around using different masseuse's because he was looking for a little extra

Still waiting for even the slightest bit of damning evidence. Anything! A grainy video. A bad text message. Some account from a reliable source...
I agree 100%. The sports world is ready and rarin' to go in bashing Watson, but geez at least throw us a bone!! There is absolutely nothing out there in terms of substance (yet). Bear in mind I am not saying I think he's innocent... it sure don't look good for him.... makes me think of a tweet I read this weekend which I think deserves tweet of the year:

"In just one weekend, Oral destroyed Ohio State, Florida and Deshaun Watson."

The lawyer would have to knowingly be engaging in fraudulent behavior. He really doesn't even really have to perform any due diligence (though he claims he has done so on the 12 and is currently doing so on the other 10).

So all it takes to be a sexual predator is to do it without witnesses and bam you are free?

1 person coming forth with only their word shouldn't be enough without evidence to back it up. 20+ woman, that have no connection to each other, is pretty damning.

Remember these woman are working professionals that put themselves through school to have a decent paying career.
Let's not overstate things here. We know that not all of them are licensed. Plaintiff #2 sounds like little more than a woman with no talent or training whatsoever who simply decided to start giving massages for money.
The payout they get could be less than they make a year. Why would they jeopardize their career to do that?
Whuh huh? The potential payout they get could be more money than they would ever make in their entire lives.

So now it's 13 women accusing him of this behavior. If this guy was a backup QB not making a lot of money, he'd be kicked to the curb after the 1st incident. But since he's making over $40M per year, it's "let the process play out".

If he was a backup QB w/o a lot of money, this wouldn't be happening.

No way would the payouts be anything close to 7 figures and I doubt even 6 figures. So no, I fully disagree with your notion that it's more money than they would ever make in their lifetime.

The damage to his reputation is done. Paying for silence is the most valuable thing and even someone like Stormy Daniels only made like a 100k off of someone running for president

There are numerous forms of evidence that do not include video
