Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

So you would be comfortable trading for Watson right now? Glad you're not our GM...and yes, there is a Pats perspective, which is what happens if they trade for a guy who has been accused of sexual misconduct that has not been verified? The pats would be insane to trade a boat load of picks/players to get him only to find out later that the allegations are true. But go on, play pretend GM and trade for him.
We're not trading for him, it was never going to happen, we don't have the capitol other teams have.

I’m wondering if Easterby and then McNair found out about this and were trying to put a stop to the behavior, but their hands were tied. They couldn’t take any action without the girls’ involvement. It would explain the animosity towards them. It’s probably not a coincidence that the attorney is McNair’s neighbor.

The first accuser said Watson suggested recommending her to teammates. There could be more players involved. (Just speculating)

4 cases coming.

I wonder if this is the reason Deshaun wanted out ?
Thought the same thing,

P.S. Which is also one reason Nick can trade him now without repercussions from the Fan base. He's become un-squaeky clean.
Janice McNair is the owner......so.......

All lawsuits and none of them went to the police?

Seems legit.
I am all in now. Let's get him. What masseuse who is on Instagram has not seen a guy's ripa-wrapa while "working"? Is this a surprise? First thing you learn in Instagram Masseuse school.
According to the suit, it looks like he used "scruffy" like a baseball bat. I would be acquitted immediately. Never will get caught in heavy machinery.

I always take sexual assault allegations seriously. So I won't just dismiss these allegations out of hand. There are multiple allegations. That is disconcerning. I guess we will have to wait and see and see if any of these allegations hold up to scrutiny, but these women are allowed their day in court.

But that said I do think the timing of them are sure suspicious.

So when its the Pats and AB it is the truth. DW and the Texans the media looks the other way? Kinda like that Governor from NY...

In fairness though, Watson has seemed to be a model citizen until he started to force a trade. Antonio Brown's history is a lot less spotless. Nothing close to the level of any sexual assault allegations, but he had several off the field incidences including almost hitting and killing an infant when he threw a bunch of his furniture out his 14th floor apartment.

Yes but this stuff just puts a cloud over watson even if he’s innocent. Some people will look at him fishy. That’s why his trade value has to hurt. There’s risks involved now.

Guilty or not, fact is there is a good chance he gets suspended or placed on the Commissioner's List. No one is going to trade for a player they may lose for a year.

cousin, it’s a civil lawsuit so there is no “acquittal.” he’s either liable or not depending if there is a preponderance of evidence against him.

Timing is always suspicious. It's very common to not come forward right away. I do some stuff with my local rape response services, the process of reporting is very traumatizing.

We'll see what comes of this, but it is very concerning. I think unless Deshaun clears his name beyond doubt, I don't think Kraft will want to be involved.

I def want to see this resolved before making a trade for him, because I don't want us tied to Watson if this is true. Very sad and disgusting if Watson did this.

Pats do if they want him (at the cost it would take) and he wants to come.

Defense of Sexual Assault in Civil Court and Criminal Court

Since the accuser of a sexual assault has little control over whether the state brings a lawsuit against the perpetrator of a crime, civil court provides them an opportunity to feel as though they have more control. That’s one of the most common reasons sexual assault accusers take cases to civil court. However, there are pros and cons of deciding to bring suit for sexual assault in civil court.

The Pats were extremely unlikely to trade for him before this. Now there is no chance. Bob Kraft takes a hardline stance on sexual assault.

Not sure why he would be placed on the Exempt list when Kraft, who was criminally charged by the State of Florida and they had video evidence, was not.

In addition, Goodell has yet to place AB on the list over his Civil suit for sexual assault.

But it's the NFL and Goodell is just a lap dog for the owners, so I suppose it'll be whatever McNair wants, which sucks for Deshaun.

Sounds like Bob Kraft’s kind of guy.

This one wasn’t even licensed. Yeah yeah I know I’m sexist but doesn’t there come a point where women have to use their brains a little and figure out what a guy in this situation is going to want?

No one deserves to be sexually assaulted but some people sure need to act a lot smarter to avoid such situations in the first place.
Victim blaming us wrong but having a professional athlete who has never met you pay to fly you from Atlanta to Houston and get you a hotel room for a massage when he could choose 100s of massage therapists that he doesn’t have to pay to fly in should scream out something is wrong.

let’s see. He could get a massage from someone local for $100 or he can pay a grand to fly me in, a couple hundred for a room and then how much for the actual massage since she has to give up her whole day?
What could motivate a 26 year old man to spend that much more? Hmmmm
