Player Signing Trent Brown trade to Pats

I had an unfinished post arguing that Cannon was a lock to stay and compete to be the RT on my phone when I heard news of the trade. Well, so much for that. What do I know anyway.

This is a real good start to the off-season whether they decide to play Wynn or Onwenu at guard. It promises to be a pretty good OLine which is the 1st thing any QB needs in place to be successful.

The next 10 days are going to be unpredictable and a whole lot of fun.

The move may set a bit of a precedent, in regards to trading for a good player and getting them to take a cut at the same time. Could see similar from a Garoppolo trade, where they convert his high salary into incentives, which protects them and also likely keeps the ‘21 cap hit low.

By the looks of that front porch he may have put on that Covid 20 lbs and then some.

Looks like Philip Finch from the 80s movie "Wildcats"

I really don't get why everyone wants to move Wynn from LT. All he did was ball when healthy. Brown fits better at NE RT imo anyway.

In any case the beauty of this move is they can move all pieces around as they feel/need - and they will play every position with similar quality
(KC should take a lesson).

Now you have 2 proven LTs (Wynn/Brown), 3 proven RTs (Brown/Onwenu/Wynn), 2 proven LG (Onwenu/Wynn), 2 dominant RG (Mason/Onwenu)
Wynn is a LT. I was just saying in terms of if he's moving, G or T. He's a tackle. I have no problem keeping him at LT and Brown at RT.

Now I might want Cam back, put him behind that line. Run, Run, Run. Teams in the NFL are now going with the fast 230 lbs LBs who can cover all over the field. Imagine if BB puts together the Packers offense from the 60s! Once they got a lead, the game would be ovah!

Of course, if they fell far behind, you would have to change QBs.

But a running QB, or at least one with a threat to run, behind that line, would be great.

Some more food for thought, with this move we are all expecting Andres back and Thuney and Cannon to go. What if BB re-signs Thuney and moves Shaq to center. Mason was projected to be a center in the draft.

Then you are looking at Wynn, Thuney, Mason, Onewenu, Brown.

Either way, with this trade, Cannon can start packing his bags. He was a great draft pick, a steal in the 5th rd. I doubt the Pats can trade him with that contract.

There goes our watch of great OT draft class.. Or does it? BB could own the OL market

If Little falls id still catch him..

Center higher could be in play now..

He made his fortune at LT.

Seems as if he would play there first and see how it goes.

Wynn replaces Thuney.

Thuney delivers a 3rd round compensatory pick assuming the Pats dont go hog wild in FA.

Nice!! How good is he at throwing the ball or running routes?

I'm in shock by how cheap this is. The difference between the last pick in the 5th Round (Pat's) and one of the first picks in the 7th Round (Raiders') is only about 35 picks.

What's next?

This coaching staff is always a year or two ahead of the pendulum swings on offense. Defenses are now built to stop fast break offenses. The Pats will have 7 starting caliber, versatile OL by the time they finish camp to power a running attack.
