Debate Brady vs Belichick?

Over in the sense that it never should've been a "debate" in the first place, because there is nothing to debate?

Yes, absolutely.
Completely agree. Who in their right mind would credit BB more.

Yup. Pats lost by 3 too because Bill passed up a 49 yard field goal. It’s not like it was 59. I mean... you really don’t trust your kicker to hit one from 49? I’m sure he wasn’t hurt. Why is he active then? And it wasn’t like 4th and 3, it was 4th and THIRTEEN. Crazy.

I will defend Bill’s coaching in a debate but I definitely don’t think he’s perfect. Far from it.

Should have punted if you didn't want to kick. Who frickin goes for 4th and 13 instead of punting when you're up in the 3rd Quarter. It was just stupid all around.

Poor analogy. Bill provided the paint but Tom was creating the art. Your analogy is like having a skilled carpenter build a great deck and giving equal credit to Home Depot.

Home depot should get some credit. They're loaded with studs.

Its kinda sad the whole board is turning on BB after one season . But didn't expect any different. This is boston. Fans and Media are the most fickle minded when it comes to their team. I hope BB leaves so that people here can start threads like "Good Riddance" and see where the franchise heads. Here is another mediot

To me it is much more sad when the board turns on Brady who was out there taking the hits, making the throws, all while taking less than market value to help Bill and the team.

The same disease spreads in just about every team hierarchy and fan base when the team is losing, though it usually takes a few years, not just one. We're not use to it because it's been since 2000 that we had a losing season

I don't think this board is turning on Bill. The media though - they've been waiting to pounce for the last 20 years. They loved Parcells. Bill not so much.

People need to relax. It was a subpar year after losing the GOAT QB. If we're still racking up 7-9 seasons in 2-3 years, i can understand. Emotions are running wild after 20 years of supremacy.

Sure. But it can be both who are responsible , no ? why take sides ?

Hopefully a better QB next year solves a lot of problems.

That and getting another legitimate weapon, or two. Nothing at TE and our best WR being a mid 30s Edelman coming off a big injury screams STACK THE BOX.

Not sure when other teams will start making their cuts but I have not looked forward to an off season as much as this one in quite a while. Wish we had a better feel for the rookie TE's to know if that is still a huge need or a lesser one.

Yup. Seeing other teams play goal line against us at the 50 yard line is an embarrassment. I hope we never see that again

I think most reasonable people would say neither side would have had anywhere near the success without the other but those people seem to get drowned out by the two camps of "Bill rode Brady's coattails" and "Brady wouldn't have done anything if Bill didn't draft him". I don't think it is unreasonable to lean towards one side or the other being more responsible but to go too far one way or the other just gets ridiculous.

Take heart. It's just the chicken littles and debbie downers having their day. There are dudes posting that either just showed up or have been quiet since things were going downhill last year. They'll be quiet once we're winning again. Or maybe they'll leave beforehand...either way, fine with me.

I'm a chicken downer (I love that stuff) and I used to really enjoy little debbies (the snack was good too). ;)

It's not the whole board, although that would be nice. And it's not just one season either. Belichick is a sloppy GM and has been for much of his tenure in New England. Generally he got away with it because Brady was good enough to tip the scale back in their favor. However, it would catch up with the team intermittently... 2006 (Reche Caldwell, Doug Gabrielle & Chad Jackson), 2013 (Dobson, Boyce & Thompkins) and of course 2020 (post-Brady Newton debacle). The only person he's ever fully taken care of salary-wise is himself apparently. Stephen and Brian.
