They missed their shot at Lawrence, which was what I was commenting on. They’ll still have shots at the Trasks and Mac Jones’ of the world. But your argument was still trash. For every team like the Jets and Jags that pick high, you have teams like the Chiefs (who had high picks before Mahomes and were out of the basement before he was drafted), the Browns (8-3), the Rams, the Titans, hell... the Ravens have picked in the top 5-6 multiple times in the BB era.
The Browns have one good record in 20 seasons, so they are the exact opposite of the pro tank argument. Same with the Rams, who spent over a decade being terrible. Prior to 2017, their last winning record was 2003. Another bad example is the Titans, who prior to 2016 last had a winning record in 2008. So I don't know why the tank argument is so strong here. Also just ask the Giants, Redskins, Jags, Bengals, Jets, etc how great it is to lose and get higher draft picks. I'm sure they'll tell you it's gone great

First off newton is awful and is the opposite of clutch. Its amazing they won TBH. Cardinals coach was a major reason why the pats one. Going for the TD at the end of half made no sense. D was kit great.

Special teams were great so that's something. Team still makes no sense. Lose to the broncos and Texans but win against the Ravens and Cardinals.
This team can beat or lose to anybody. That’s just where we are

I think so too but hard to say. I think there's a chance they can get Wilson if they drop like 3 more games but probably not. In all likelihood Lawrence, Fields, Lance and Wilson will be gone before pick #7 or 8 IMO. Pats aren't bottom-8 bad.

How many teams you figure are looking for QBs? The Bengals, Chargers, Giants, Cowboys, Texans, Broncos, and Eagles already have made QB commitments.

It will be interesting to see if the Jetes make ANOTHER 1st round investment in a QB when they have Darnold.

The Falcons will probably draft a QB to replace Ryan. The Lions will probably be looking for one to replace Stafford.

The two teams that are question marks are the 49ers and the Jaguars. They may or may not draft a QB..

Where did you get that my particular argument in that thread was a “pro tank” argument? And referencing the Giants makes my point for me. Remind me again how many Super Bowls they won last decade and who it was against?

What we used to call “ugly wins” from 2001-2019 look like Gisele compared to the win today.

It's a good win. A decent portion of the young guys on the field are part of the rebuild and it's good to see them compete against decent NFL competition. Cam isn't a long term answer, but he's doing just enough not to cost us the game.

I'm glad I'm not the only one lamenting the miserable officiating. Aside from the horrible call on Jennings, JJones obviously got leg whipped, which freed Murray for a 17 yard run or somesuch.

The sentiment of the tank crowd is that winning games is detrimental to the future, which is wrong and ignorant of history. The Giants do not make any pro tank argument. They are always losing, picking high, and barely making any progress even in a terrible division.

They won two Super Bowls since 2007 with a QB they picked high LMFAO. Using them to make the point that picking high = no success, which appears to be the point you’re trying to make, is an abject failure.

Cam was terrible today and he knows it. Who knows if he can improve. Maybe if Jules returns it helps, they need more James White.

And I don’t agree with that. I think that Stidham could do exactly the same as Cam. I definitely think that Stidham could throw for more than 80 yards
If you're so much smarter than the great Bill Belicheck I wonder why you arent a coach some where

DaBruinz, my brother was telling me that he heard that the Jets were looking to trade Darnold...makes sense, from what I've seen and heard about Lawrence, he's a one in a generational type of talent. Good point though, a lot of young talent at qb in the league now.....would you be interested in Darnold for us?

There were so many bad "NON" Calls it was ridiculous..

Everyone gives Cam the credit for getting a 1st down, or completing a pass. He did everything he could to blow this game - AGAIN. It was a few fluky plays, and some good D that pulled out this miracle. He's just a wasted opportunity. No one likes Hoyer, but he can manage a game, and spread the ball. No one trusts Stidham, but he's never been given 1st team reps and a game plan. Does anyone think one of these guys can't muster better than 80 YDs and 0TD/2INT. It's insane!

This is a bad take. If you followed the Giants for any length of time you would realize they weren’t tanking. They deluded themselves that they could win with Eli and legit said **** like “we are building around Eli”. They had the 2nd overall pick in one of the best QB prospect drafts in a decade and they picked a running back.

That should tell you a lot.

They were not trying to rebuild until maybe last year when they finally gave up on Eli. And even then they thought Jones was the new guy.

Look at a team like Cardinals or 49’ers that we’re good to start last decade then did a complete tear down.

The Browns are just incompetent. They have a loaded roster and still can barely win

Are you talking about 2007 that was over a decade ago, when they won a SB thanks to their defense, not their #1 overall QB? How has that been working out for them lately? Maybe their saviors Daniel Jones and Barkley will help bring a SB in fantasy land. Also, Manning never won a playoff game outside of 2007 or 2011, so he was barely even worth the pick

The problem with Darnold is that I don't know if he can be "fixed" after spending 3 years in the Jets organization under Gase.
