All COVID-19 tests negative on Saturday morning. Amazing Gilmore tested positive Tuesday and no-one else caught it (at least 4 days later all negative tests).
Probably a false positive? Or the safety protocols actually work? It would be nice if these people would give the rest of us some tips to avoid the plague.

I had it and tested negative.

A couple here got in line at a church parking lot to be tested. You had to stay in your car. The testers took all their info down pre test, but after waiting for over an hour the couple decided to drive off. 10 days later the couple received a notice in the mail that they tested positive.

Its a 5hitshow.

Looks like Newton won't practice today, which means he didn't get 2 negative tests in 24 hour period...we're going to have to roll with Stidham

I have this sinking feeling that Coach Bill is going to trot out Hoyer again
Both Stidham and Hoyer looked bad. Difference is Hoyer is a 12 year veteran whose job as the #2 QB was specifically to not *&$# up, and he went out and *&$# up. If both these guys have the potential to do that, why not go with the youngster who at least could theoretically improve? I’m guessing Bill feels that way too? Look at it this way — in 21 seasons here, when has BB pulled a starting QB from a game due to poor performance? Never, until Hoyer. Granted there haven’t been many poor performances, but prior Brady and Bledsoe removals from games was because of the game being too far out of reach in some direction.

We have the quick tests here in Colorado now. Results in 2-hours. Not sure how accurate they are? I read 85%? We just had a couple guys at work get sick and miss work. They had to get tested before returning to the shop. Glad you are OK!

doesnt matter though. as long as 10 days passes he can play if he remains asymptomatic

If it was a false positive he would have been removed from the COVID list. Plus Gilmore posted about it so it was not a false positive.

These guys are asymptomatic which means the viral load is very low. With a low viral load the virus spreads a lot less.

Tips to avoid the plague are to be under 40 and be in great physical shape eating a balanced diet. Those days have passed for me :).

Is there still a chance Cam could play?

Monday will be the 10th day since his diagnosis, so under the NFL covid rules he could play if he's asymptomatic. However, my guess is he won't play if he's not practicing today.

Wow, so if he's still asymptomatic Monday it's up to Belichick. I agree it makes sense to start Stidham, doubt we see Hoyer.

He may still have met the requirements to return, simply not practicing does not mean he has continued to test positive. Belichick may have simply held him out to be extra-safe, or for additional peace-of-mind for the rest of the team. It is clear that he has taken this issue very seriously and the players respects him a great deal for it, Jason McCourty expressed as much in a recent interview.

My personal expectation is that if Newton continues to be asymptomatic he will play him if the team generally seems to feel safe about it considering he has not exhibited symptoms. I expect the team will be OK with it but don't know. Gilmore will probably stay out. These are just my guesses.

There is also a slight competitive element here. If they are only getting one practice and have to try to distance within that practice, there is possibly some value in keeping your opponent wondering which QB will play all the way til the game starts. Until near kickoff time, Denver will have no idea if they are playing Newton or Hoyer/Stidham and thus have to prepare for both options. It's not like Cam having 1 (COVID-adjusted) practice or 0 practices is going to make a huge difference in his performance, most likely.

Browns/dolts is the only real interesting game for me Sunday now. We'll see if Browns offense is on track or if Indy's defense is legitimate. Plus Browns would go 4-1. Which would be the first time since '94, when I guy named Bill Belichick was the coach.
Clowns/Dolts.

By the same token, Denver is keeping us in the loop about Drew Lock, who has now been upgraded to "questionable." Would love to see a Newton vs Lock matchup, as opposed to a combination of Hoyer/Stidham vs Lock/Rypien.

I'd prefer Lock from an entertainment standpoint, but I'll definitely welcome Rypien considering our own uncertanties and the brutal schedule this year. Lol

Thank you Denver.

You likely don't recall but we have met at game way back when.

Cassel went in to mop up a blowout, he threw An interception and Brady went back in

Right, and he did the same with Stidham last year against the Jets for the same reason. But he’s never yanked the game starter due to poor performance until Hoyer last week.
