The only argument id make against that is he referred to his trip to NE as a business trip.. which could imply he feels disrespected that people forgot about him, took the cheap deal in NE so he could go prove to everyone he's still the **** and will use this season as a way to cash in

I think people in general need to pump the breaks on some sort of “sentimentality” signing. He’s been here a few months. If Caroline broke the bank for him next season, the hometown hero comeback story will be more alluring imo. Also he’s in his 30’s. His next contract may be his last.

Idk it just all feels kinda petty. Brady is to this team what Joe Montana is/was to the 49’ers.

It’s very likely 25 years from now, when people talk about the Patriots, Brady and his era will be the hallmark centerpiece of the franchise still

Could not agree more. What this man has done for the franchise has been nothing short of remarkable and it was astonishing to see some Pats fans turn on him because he left to play elsewhere. I will always love the guy and hold him in the highest regard.

Tanking is for losers with a loser mentality. BB would never in a million years tank a season, that would go against the very culture he's spent over 2 decades creating and represented by all the pictures, quotes, etc hung up all over the building
You can have it one of two ways. He’s either the smartest coach ever or he’s dedicated to winning even if it won’t happen this year. You can’t have both. We lose to the Broncos and Niners and our season is over at 2-4. At that point you either commit to a real rebuild and go after something worthwhile or you wind up in 6-4 to 9-7 NFL purgatory.

Not saying we should. But if we go 2-4, you have to think about the draft more than the rest of the season. Especially because of we lose to Denver.... it’s highly possible we lose our next two to San Fran and Buff. You are 2-5, down a division game to the Bills and now have to play the Jets. At that point you really need to make a decision

Yeah I just think it’s petty. He’ll go down as far and away the most significant player and the one who defines our franchise. It actually hurts our franchise for him to fail and hurt his legacy somewhere else

Anyone who really thinks the Patriots or any other team would tank or consider tanking and lose games on purpose is completely uninformed to how the NFL works.

That is hard to say but I agree that they should be. But its very clear to me that not all Brady folks are Pats fans.

Now that he's gone some are like jilted lovers and some are treating him like an enemy on another team, which he is. I think we can agree that if he ends up playing the Pats in a game we'll all be pulling for him to lose

if you read the whole quote its kind of misleading. What he said was he doesnt have his family up here because he is taking this very seriously because if he doesnt succeed his career is likely over. which is true.

I still dont think cam newton is commanding 33-35million$ contract due to his age and his production. Ryan tannehill is a better comp. I mean everyone is scrutinizing bradys performance and he has 12 passing TD's so far. Cam has 2 passing TD's

Brady left because the pats didnt give him weapons. If the pats offered him the same deal as tampa i dont think he takes it because he has no one to throw to. Its why he was so grumpy and miserable once they dropped Antonio Brown...even though he likely wouldve been suspended anyway.

im convinced its a change in offensive philosophy between Bill/Brady. just look at how both teams are constructed. Bill wants to Run the ball play tough defense. Brady wants to show he can still air it out. for what the patriots are TODAY with this current roster cam is probably a better fit.

as great a story as it would be, I'd put the chances of Cam coming back to Carolina next year around .01%

You never know what other veteran QB will become available also.
What veteran QB that would come available would be better than Cam?

Mahomes, Wilson, Jackson, and Allen aren’t going to be available. Who else would you rank as clearly better?

Mayfield? Zak? Cousins?

Seriously, who would you sign over Cam if they were available?

Name some names so we can discuss them.

I think "roll with Stidham" says everything you ever needed to know about Jarrett Stidham

Extending Cam would be a bigger mistake than letting Brady go without a viable option.

Most SB's are won by elite QB's that are passers first. Not all but most.
Brady (8), Big Ben (2), PEDton (2), Wilson, Mahomes, Warner, Brees and Rodgers account for 17 of the last 20, unless I'm missing someone. They also represent most of the teams that made it to the SB but lost.

There was no mistake on Bill’s part, Brady left completely on his own. Judging by what we’ve seen so far looks more like the mistake was made by Tom himself.

And giving a 42 year old whatever he wanted for multiple years wouldn’t be a mistake it would be a blunder. That is something the Jets would do and that’s why we win and they don’t.

Still don’t know when or if they should extend him.

Want to see how he responds to a rough game and the media bombarding him and that includes the next game.

Niners coming in next ...

Hard to judge a qb playing behind an offensive line in shambles and throwing to trash cans lined up at the receiver and te position.

I’m just glad he didn’t get seriously hurt when he was bent backwards on his fumble. That would have been all she wrote on this season right there.

I think Fitz would be a better option.

Cam is not a great passer.
I don’t think Fitz is a FA. Could be wrong. I like him though.
