This game gave me major optimism moving forward. We can hang with anybody

Tom Brady was an immediate improvement over Bledsoe who just signed the biggest contract ever. Everyone knew that too. He passed every eye test. He had some rough patches but you felt confident in him. Stidham doesn’t have that. He’s looked garbage every time he’s touched the field.

The difference between him and Hoyer today was that he got bailed out of a stupid mistake and time wasn’t an issue.

I’ve watched this sport a long time. Over half the league has some guy on the bench at some point that the fans desperately want to believe in despite all the evidence being to the contrary. Trust me, when you have to be this forgiving of him to find positives.... he’s not going to be a starter

Agree. Stidham is an interception machine. I wish I could buy stock in 'Stidham will have a sky high INT rate as a NFL QB'. He has throws that look pretty, but then makes poor decisions or gets way too greedy on the throwing windows.

.

postgame... Ref said the whistle was blown for grasp and control, not reviewable

he blew his whistle signaling mahomes was in the grasp but it's such a bang bang play. When I think in the grasp, I think, player is mobbed by several opponents fighting to bring him down. I think of a player being held up. Mahomes was trying to make a play while being tackled. That's a football play.

It's almost like, if there's any danger to mahomes losing the ball, the refs are right there to blow the whistle right away. It's disgusting.
I saw Corrente's explanation later. It's just a load of BS. Sounded like a ref too proud to admit that he made a massive game-changing mistake, instead looking for some flimsy excuses.

Didn't really pay attention, was it an accidental whistle or did the ref just (literally) blow it?

Understandable. It wasn't a big play play in the game, so why would you be paying attention?

If Hoyer starts next game I am throwing my tv out of the window.
Hopefully Cam is back.
Stidham has the arm but he is not really a starting QB caliber player.
Cam is still young but we need to look for our next starting QB...

We don't.

Because I happened to watch the summary only while in the midst of preparing to go to work and had others things to do than to pay close attention to the movements of the refs?:poop:

Izzo is an absolutely horrendous receiver. Maybe he can block? 2 years in a row, the TE position has been probably the worst in the league.
Why are we not seeing AsiAsi or Keene?
Not really, but he is better at it than last season. There's not a lot of "tight ends" that can actually block in the league.

Asiasi played some snaps in the oakland game.

Mahomes was trying to throw the ball away or to someone. They would have allowed it and not called it a dead play if he had. BS double standard but this is what happens when you make this a QB league.

I thought you needed 2 negative tests followed by 5 more days, anyone have any firm details on this?

5 days followed by 2 negative tests over 48 hours. So Cam tested Friday not sure if Fruday counts or when the clock starts. But wednesday would be 5 (I assume) then a neg test Thursday and Friday and he can go with Friday or Saturday.

Who designed the defense that frustrated Mahomes? Believe me, this game film will be dissected around the league.
Agreed. Are people really judging BB’s performance on a missed challenge that (1) may/may not have been communicated with him properly (2) loses as the forward progress call would have played into it ?

imo, BB : master class. He took a butter knife to a fight vs a machine gun and made it really interesting.

We don't.
That’s fine. In about a year or two the idea that Stidham could have been the starter is going to be about as funny as people who thought Etling could be. There’s a reason Bill didn’t start him and why he hasn’t looked good or shown anything

glad the refs were all-in to support the Chiefs, wasn't expecting anything less

for a healthy team with superior offense and the world greatest QB ever steping a foot on this planet and they still need to get bs calls against a banged up Patriots team without a QB

not sure, but did Kelce play? who was covering him, he didn't made a catch?

I think Edelman is gone after his season.

Kelce was held in check until he had like a 50 yard catch and run late in the game beating Williams.

One of those two in likely starting one more time. It's fine. They can beat Denver at home, regroup, and Cam their way to a decent record post bye !

Stidham should have thrown 3 INTs. He got bailed out by a suspect call against Matthieu. As it stands, he threw 2 INTs in less than a half’s work. That’s terrible.

He wasn’t great but the call on Matthieu was pretty clear; Harry had him beat. The pick was Edelman’s fault; he took his eye off the ball to look upfield. So only one pick was Stidham’s fault.

Me.

Signed, A Belichick with Mayo
