Titans Covid positives, first outbreak

I would say the shaming should be more from not taking the precautions more so than attending the gala or event. That’s just a heck of a risk given what’s on the line.
And it's not just a risk of himself because he could become a carrier and take the virus to his teammates or even his family.

This is why individual rights arguments fail to impress me, because a contagious virus can't exactly read the Constitution and your infection is not just your problem

I’d assume food and beverages were served at this event, correct? How is one supposed to eat and drink while wearing a mask?

Do you have to eat everything put in front of you?

So explain to me, in detail, how we would make a lockdown work economically. Specifically detail how the 74% of American families making $50K a year or less living paycheck to paycheck with zero savings or the 1-in-4 families pulling down $150k living paycheck to paycheck with zero savings would make that work.

No but if one is hungry, one eats. Not sure the point of that question. You’d probably be more of an expert in that area than I would be.

You are not a passenger in this pandemic Kontra. You are allowed and even encouraged to come up with plans and show signs of actual brain use in preparing for public encounters to minimize your risks

And that means you are subject to ridicule and criticism if through a mix of ignorance, complacency and stubbornness you refuse to do so and get sick

Right donald?

I’d imagine one could pull the mask down enough to expose the mouth, take a bite or sip, pull the mask back over the mouth and nose until the next bite/sip.

Then what the hell is the point of a mask if they’re going to do that? They’re exposing themselves at that point.

NYT today (though in the context of today's big news):
In a systematic review of seven studies published in May, researchers at Johns Hopkins University analyzed how long this process typically takes. They found that the most widely used test, called a P.C.R. test, was most likely to come back positive eight days after an exposure to the virus, which tended to coincide with a person’s third day of symptoms. Still, even on this ideal day, the tests came back negative on average in 20 percent of people who later tested positive.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta says a similar thing, the three days before a positive test are the most likely days a person is contagious. In the case of TEN, this means the LB position coach / defacto defensive coordinator who was a positive on Saturday was probably the most contagious Wed-Thu-Fri.

I suppose if they aren’t dining within spitting distance of strangers, they’d be ok in those brief exposure times.

I see him. A man in his 70s, morbidly obese, expected to make a full recovery.
They've already given him an unproven treatment that's inadequately tested and gotten mixed results. I don't know what doc just prescribed a non- FDA approved treatment in a situation that's (supposed to be) strictly dictated by national security. (When you take that job, you give up personal power over your serious medical conditions.) I don't think anyone is thinking 98% for this particular patient.
This is nature’s reaction to the planet being severely overpopulated and people burning through the Earth’s natural resources at an alarming rate. We were well overdue for it.
Was talking to someone who just quit the fishing business in the pacific northwest because he is witnessing what he called "the end of life in the oceans." If he's right, that's the end of us, too. COVID 19 is just nature saying, "Hey humans, I'm done with you."
If you’re elderly, infirm, or have an underlying condition that could negatively impact you, stay home. You have the freedom to do that. Quarantine is intended to be for those who are at greatest risk regardless.
I agree, that makes sense at this point. Reopening of society, knowing that there will be long term health consequences for a few hundred thousand young people who get it and never fully shake it.

Don't want to voice-of-doom the whole thing, but it's almost been shocking how quickly fall has blossomed into higher virus numbers. I didn't think they'd make it through the season, and still don't, but I had allowed myself to get into it, sort of "conditionally." All my best wishes that the Titans players get "the sniffles" or something, not lasting effects.

And sure, I hope this "stays contained," but it makes no sense to me that they'd be able to play a whole season. I'm wondering if the owners have half-season-then-playoffs contingency plans or something. :(

And that's all it takes for the wheels to come off the whole operation. Fingers-crossed they can keep this isolated, reschedule game(s) and move forward without issue.

Here's hoping MIN avoids a major impact.
So much for no politics.

You might want to show a little respect to the man who helped create the job you finally found.

Number 1, no politics, number 2, politicians don't create jobs, employers do, number 3, if you believe the reverse, maybe Obama created the one he got :D

But no politics.

Turning pretty much in a scenario where the Titans Bills game next week will be also substantially affected by all the players who still keep popping up as positive.

I hope all players and staff end up being well but the League deserves all of this with their nonsensical reactive stance.

Donny boy destroyed the economy because he refused to shut it down immediately to treat the virus. He was told that it was better to hurt the economy in the short term to save it in the long run.

The message is pretty simple: The economy will not get better until the virus is eradicated and Americans feel safe enough to get out and about.
