who said there were 2 wrongs?
You countered the fact handing a check to a poor person doesn’t solve poverty with it’s like giving money to corporations

Which is right and which is wrong and does either solve anything?

helping the poor helps......whether you have the brain to admit it or not

collective you.....not surprised someone like you doesn't get that

Does that include the entities at the short end of the proverbial stick? Do these victimized parties hold any responsibility at all for their plight, or is it simply up to the "collective you" to fix disparities that may, or may not, be the result of unjust societal forces?

some......but not as much as the system that tries to keep them down

Yes, it does. I'm much less likely to consider your pandering leftist bloviating when it's offered up in the form of personal attacks. On the other hand, if someone else can make a valid point without resorting to these ad hominems, I'm going to give him the time of day instead. Ya dig?

If the "system" keeps them down, what is the "system" you want to use to rectify the imbalance?

Also, which group is the "system" holding down?

These bogeymen pimped by Archer (et. al.) are solely imagined into existence to justify the so-called Social Justice movement. Another paragovernmental concoction so the left can further interfere in our daily lives and simultaneously virtue signal to their comrades-in-arms.

I do....and if I'm a sucker, then you're an *******

Not a sucker. If you truly help, good for you, but it sounds like you're wanting society (the collective you) to be forced to fix disparities simply because disparities exist. It seems self-evident to me that before that is done, an honest discussion should take place on the current disparities. Specifically we should know how much of the imbalance is the result of self-inflicted cultural realities that are in direct conflict with progress vs how much of the "imbalance" is due to unseen evil forces.

That really has to be explained to you, huh?
Actually, yes it does...Then maybe by typing an answer you read it and realize how wrong-headed the entire concept of reparations/quotas really is...

well.....you can't change bigots, so forcing PC down their throats is always fun to watch in it's place

minorities are all being discriminated against routinely.........FACT

do you actually watch football?

I’d have thought such a male dominated sport fueled by testosterone and money would be cripplingly triggering for someone like you

much with the disparities occur due to discrimination......the truly glaring instances are what you see in the news......black kid jogging is gunned down, black woman blown away in bed......you know the less glaring they are, the more frequently they happen. to deny it doesn't speak about them, it speaks about you

I have first hand experience.....while I have the same skin color, so people can't see it coming, English is my 2nd language, and I watched my family be subjected to the same kinds of things when the bigots realized we were immigrants.

so ya.......it's f*cking there......it's always f*cking there

oh jeezus.......the last clown who started to this path here is now home in Jacksonville, sucking his thumb......you want the same result?

Hey man, I get it, change is hard. I think it sometimes makes people uncomfortable to be "forced" into something that they are unsure about, but try to look at the situation from other people's perspective as much as possible and actually imagine how it would feel to be a minority in many different circumstances. It's not all bad, but it is uncomfortable and awkward for minorities in this country/world way too often. Just a thought. I'm not advocating for perfect balance, just that people work toward a more just world, simple really, many people have that basic concept in their religious textx or treat their loved ones this way. It just takes a bit more effort to extend that principle to the whole society. You make some good points in this thread, thanks for engaging with me.

Which minorities are you referring to when you speak of the imbalances? I ask because there are some "minorities" in this country who kicks the ***e$ of the "majority" as it pertains to things like income, wealth, education, etc. Those minority groups who are not seeing the successes of other minority groups should probably take a look at what makes the successful groups the way they are. What values and behaviors do they hold that the unsuccessful may lack? Are there cultural patterns/choices that lead to the "uncomfortable and awkward" feelings they hold, or are their struggles the result of external societal forces? If it's a combination of both, which are easier to change/control?

The idea of a more just world is excellent in idealistic theory, but the reality is we treat each other terribly for countless reasons (race is just one of them), and that will always be the case.
