What the hell is this?
This is an absolutely terrible idea.
Nice, I was thinking things were a little too quiet on this board for the past couple weeks.
I don’t know.. I think no matter what side you stand on this subject, that you’d find this idea being ridiculous as being a solution.
I'm waiting for someone to propose improving a team's draft position if they start a white player at defensive back.
Jason Sehorn is gonna get you for this.
FWIW, there are two other proposals that I think make more sense:
Preventing teams from blocking assistants from interviewing for coordinator positions.
Requiring Rooney rule interviews for coordinators as well as coach/GM positions, as well as requiring two such interviews.
This isn't racist at all...
Fighting supposed racism with actual racism. Great idea.
I agree it’s a terrible idea and but I suspect that some people in here are going to take their complaints about it a little too far, and also use it as an excuse to complain about unrelated issues.
I prefer the original proposal...the best person qualified for the job is hired.
"We need to institutionalize the 'racism via racist policies' we claim to abhor!"
As long as they don't retroactively move the Gnats up in the draft.
Hey Edelman played CB for us for a while. Where‘s our draft pick move?
Also you know Belichick would find a loophole in this.
“I resign as the GM of the NEP.
Mayo you’re the new GM.
You don’t have any new duties, but you’re still the new GM”
Preventing teams from blocking assistants from interviewing is also something I would see as more likely, however it should be only allowed after a team is out of the POs or in case it's in the SB, after the SB.
Percent of African Americans in USA: 12.6%
Percent of NFL head coaches that are Africa American: 12.5%
I suspect that some on here will launch a Scud missile of a preemptive straw man...
I’m just thinking out loud here, so ignore if you want, but I truly doubt a team is going to hire a HC to move up 6 spots or a GM to move up 10 spots in the 3rd round. The only instance I see this coming into play is if there are to even or nearly even candidates for the same job, then maybe it will come into play. A team is going to hire the guy they feel is best for their team (Or at least they should), PERIOD, not to move up in the 3rd round.
I'll never watch another game if that happens. What a stupid ****ing idea.
DIsclaimer. I rarely watch football these days anyway.
