The last year he wasn’t injured he had his second best passing season. You are using a season he was clearly injured and only played two games as a sample size to justify your point which is crap.

The debate was whether it’s right that he couldn’t find a job. You are arguing he’s not not good enough and using the outcome of not being signed as justification. You can’t possibly be this intellectually bankrupt

You're using as evidence "the second best passing season" of a guy who isn't a very good passer. That is the definition of "intellectually bankrupt".

Jordan Richards had the best season of his career last year. Maybe we should sign him up using your wonderful logic, which is definitely not "intellectually bankrupt".

admittedly I’m only going off the initial tweet, but how can a teams draft position improve without hurting another teams
It’s not hurting a job candidate though so it’s not really applicable for this. For other teams they are only moving down one spot in one round

That depends on if you believe achieving equality in the midst of an equality gap is no a legitimate reason.

Also it presumes a team would hire a lesser candidate for the incentive. Which I find doubtful because a good coach or GM is more valuable than moving up a few spots in the third round.

Now if both candidates are equal, then the person losing out has no claim to getting screwed because he wasn’t better than the person who got the job to begin with.

That’s also assuming you get into a one to one situation like that. Most teams usually have a clear favorite

No two candidates are ever equal. It's a moronic thing to say.

So the teams who don’t hire a minority will move back in the draft which is fine and definitely not discriminatory at all.

We’d be cool with that as Pats fans if we get knocked down a spot because the next best team hired a black guy.

Some type of program to create a pipeline for minorities to have an easier path into the league at the coaching level. After that the high positions need to be earned ... same as the players on the field. There are many disaster stories of people attaining the HC and GM positions before they were ready regardless of ethic origin.

The problem here is in the NCAA ... the NFL should create some type of partner program to get more minority hires in all the divisions ... a band aid approach is not the answer and is certainly no solution ... if you want to effect change then create programs to help more get a chance - get a start as opposed to a token hire that proves nothing and does nothing to help where the problem begins.

Why is it critical to get more minority hires?

In 2018, Cam Newton had a 67.9 completion percentage, 24TD, 13INT, a 94.2 passer rating. That is not a bad passing season. That is a well above average passing season. He also rushed for nearly 500 yards, 4 TD’s, for 4.8 yard average and lost zero fumbles. You said he couldn’t run.

Sorry. You are using an injury to make your argument for you. The last time he really played he had an adequate running year and a solid passing year.

Phillip Rivers the last full season he played had a lower completion percentage, one less touchdown, 7 more interceptions and a 6 point lower passer rating. He also never could run compared to Cam. He was worse in everything but passing yards which is a traditionally awful stat for quality. There is no argument that Rivers last season was better than Cam’s last season and he got a job right away.

It really feels like you just are making things up because you don’t like Cam and are resting on an argument that hinges on holding him to how he performed with an injury that IR’d him to make your case

I don’t think most people would lose sleep over it. Every team can hire a minority if they want just like every team can not sign a free agent to get a comp pick that drops everyone down

You keep using snippets in time as evidence for something. Let me make it simple for you:

He is a career 59% passer.

A 59% completion percentage is bad.

Bad is the opposite of good.

He is now 31.

NFL players don't run as well at 31 as they did when they were younger.

I don't want to go into the whole "refused to dive after a fumble" stuff. I don't want to complicate it for you.

You’re right

I won’t lose sleep over the nfl incentivizing the good kind of racism to get rid of the bad kind

I’m using his last year as evidence as it’s his most recent sample size that isn’t tainted by having an injury he shouldn’t have been playing on.

His career completion percentage is a few decimal points off from Eli Manning’s except he adds the running that Eli didn’t have and has a higher ceiling.

And until proven otherwise he still runs well. You are just making **** up on that end.

There is absolutely no reason to believe Cam can’t contribute at a high level somewhere and isn’t a worthy starter.

Your arguments are really bad. Like grasping at straws bad

So explain the continual hiring and re-hiring of retreads, has-beens and never-weres.
Give examples. Which coaches currently do not deserve their jobs, and are “retreads, has-bend and never-weres” and who are the coaches that clearly should be in their place that were blatantly overlooked for some unknown reason.
You are arguing something exists and backing it up with the assumption that it exists.

I'm making up that 31 year old NFL players don't run as well as their 22 year old selves? Really?

Once again...he's a 59% passer for his career. 59% is bad.

If my arguments are bad, why isn't he on a roster?

Your boy Scam Newton's a feckin Clown...Once his physical skills begin to deteriorate to go along with his usual mediocrity & clownishness, then paying him anything more than the vet minimum just really isn't worth it.

Yeah, and then they will add a another rule saying you lose a draft pick if you fire a person of color. God, just let us be done with it and mandate that every hire has to be a person of color for the next 5 years.

Marvin Lewis didn’t win a playoff game but he historically was the best coach that franchise had and made the playoffs 7 times in what has historically been one of the toughest divisions in the NFL during his time with the Steelers and Ravens both being amongst the best in the AFC

Marvin Lewis better than Paul Brown wtf?

even putting lewis above Gregg and wyche is laughable

I am not a person of color. But I can still be colorful, can’t I?

All depends what we base the stack ranking on.

If we want to base it on playoff wins,
As Bungles coach Brown is last with Lewis at zero

Logically there is no version of reality in which Lewis is as good or better than Paul Brown as a coach
