People using Archie Bunker as an example for anything, much like people in this thread using Good Times as their example of a television show with black people in it despite that show not having aired new episodes for the past THREE DECADES, have bigger issues regarding what's currently culturally relevant than the present state of diversity representation among NFL front offices.
Some type of program to create a pipeline for minorities to have an easier path into the league at the coaching level. After that the high positions need to be earned ... same as the players on the field. There are many disaster stories of people attaining the HC and GM positions before they were ready regardless of ethic origin.
The problem here is in the NCAA ... the NFL should create some type of partner program to get more minority hires in all the divisions ... a band aid approach is not the answer and is certainly no solution ... if you want to effect change then create programs to help more get a chance - get a start as opposed to a token hire that proves nothing and does nothing to help where the problem begins.
Marvin Lewis didn’t win a playoff game but he historically was the best coach that franchise had and made the playoffs 7 times in what has historically been one of the toughest divisions in the NFL during his time with the Steelers and Ravens both being amongst the best in the AFCI mean Marvin Lewis was the head coach of the bengals for how many years without winning a playoff game?
How’s it a punishment? Literally nothing changes from right now if you don’t hire a minority. Nobody is even forced to hire a minority.I’m glad the NFL is adopting such a progressive stance.
It’s high time we as a nation start fighting racism by punishing the hiring of one race while rewarding the hiring of another
I expect the people who get shut out care.so what? Do you think the percentage of coaches who are African American should be close to the percentage of players that are too? Who cares
And clearly the best men are getting all the jobs. If you think that, you're an idiot. It’s a competitive job. You have winners and losers. That’s a fact of life. The 32nd best man in the world at it will get his ass handed to him.
No an idiot would think that someone would intentional not hire the best man.And clearly the best men are getting all the jobs. If you think that, you're an idiot.
Then establish that any are getting shut out. No one has done that.I expect the people who get shut out care.
Cam was injured and placed on IR by the team the last time we saw him. The last time we saw him healthy he had his second best passing year. Meanwhile Rivers got a job immediately having the worst season of his career,
if your benchmark is “I’m going to hold two games over a clearly injured player” that’s kind of ****ty way to make an assessment.
If you give an incentive to hire one person over another for no legitimate reason you are punishing the person who isn’t part of the group you are incentive the hiring of.How’s it a punishment? Literally nothing changes from right now if you don’t hire a minority. Nobody is even forced to hire a minority.

Only an idiot would think that it isn't going on.Then establish that any are getting shut out. No one has done that.
So explain the continual hiring and re-hiring of retreads, has-beens and never-weres.No an idiot would think that someone would intentional not hire the best man.

At least I have thoughts, something you're pretty clearly lacking. So you're admitting you only "think" this going on, but you have no evidence it actually is going on.
Do you often get your panties in a wad over your "thoughts"?

The last year he wasn’t injured he had his second best passing season. You are using a season he was clearly injured and only played two games as a sample size to justify your point which is crap. The guy is a 59% passer for his career. He is now 30, meaning the best days of using his legs are behind him. The fact that he remains unemployed in a QB driven league is strong evidence of my assessment.
That depends on if you believe achieving equality in the midst of an equality gap is no a legitimate reason. If you give an incentive to hire one person over another for no legitimate reason you are punishing the person who isn’t part of the group you are incentive the hiring of.
