In the playoff game his rookie year when Edelman was hurt he caught 10/103 and 2 TDS.
If needed he was able to contribute more than 95% of late round WR draft choices.
If we don't add anyone else:It took NE 4 years to develop Edelman into a WR.
2010 - 15 games he had 14 targets
2011 - 13 games he had 9 targets
NE needs an NFL WR today not when Stidham signs his next contract and BB retires.
That’s 9 out of probably 400 drafted so like a blind squirrel finding a nut.
You forgot Edelman.
Should have avoided the thread/topic/posted. Now I will just delete them and move onHe forgot a lot of players but he's also basically braindead so you have to cut him some slack. I mean last year alone - a bad WR draft! - you have Darius Slayton and Hunter Renfrow in the 5th round and Kelvin Harmon in the 6th. Dede Westbrook and Josh Reynolds in the 4th and Trent Taylor in the 6th in 2017.
How did he catch 8/98 yards in week 2?
You know what, never mind. I should have known better than to inject thought into this thread.
Inject foolishness.
The Pats were not stocked at WR in 2009. Aiken, Tate, Stanback, Galloway. Edelman plays outside WR today. If he was ready in 2009 he could have helped the Pats more than he did. No more lies
Catching 8 passes for 98 yards in week 2 of your rookie season = came in the league not ready to play WR. Why can’t you see that?Have you been drinking bleach? They had two of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the league that year who together caught 200 balls and Edelman filled in when Welker was hurt and as a sub package guy.

like my dog, it will be a short but intense ride.
If we don't add anyone else:
- we still have Edelman
- N'Keal will be a presence this year
- Sanu will be much better
- Meyers is a keeper
- Byrd had a solid season last year with 32 catches, he could emerge
- we have some TE's now that look legit.
What boy?
Edelman was developed into a WR. He did not enter the NFL with that skill set you dumb MF.
I do too, forgot Gunner. He could be good.I still like Gunnar O to become Edleman's replacement in a year or 2.
At this point it's going to take a few years to catch up to where Baltimore and KC are at. I'm just happy with the influx of youth on the defense, particularly with Dugger, Jennings, and Uche. The offense is what I'm disappointed in so far. Would have liked a receiver early on.
He was drafted as a WR. Point? No I didnt.
Edelman was a QB who had to be developed into a WR.
