What picks made you scream “who the @&&$ is that” and he proved you wrong?

Mine... Logan Mankins. Boy was I wrong.

Recently, Bentley kind of came from nowhere and he's been pretty good. 5th round is a time when you get random guys though.

Both Logan Ryan and Duron Harmon turned out to be very good players. Tavon Wilson's made a pretty good career for himself too.

Not a “who the f is that” but I admit I was mad when we took Seymour over Terrell. Thank god we did.

For me, it was Tom Brady....LOL. At the time, we didn't need a 4th QB....LOL.

Richard Seymour. You know you wanted David Terrell.

Logan Mankins
Sebastian Vollmer
Devin McCourty
Duron Harmon

gronk ... a 2nd on a TE with middlin numbers and an bad back? yeeesh ...

Devin McCourty. There were people angry on the radio calling him a “first round kickoff gunner”. Whoops.

I remember that moment pretty vividly because it was the first Patriots pick I watched during live draft coverage (wasn't as intense of a fan before 2010). The analyst pretty much couldn't say anything about him besides that he could contribute on special teams.

A decade later and he's still a top 5 safety.

That's the one that sticks out to me as well.

Edelman. I thought he was camp fodder and somebody's binkie to be cut the 4th week... until I saw him return that punt in preseason against the Eagles.

This isn't that punt... but it gives you that same feel I got back in 2009... dang... this kid's GOT something here. :)

For whatever reason, I remember saying WTF when we used a 5th ( 4th?) on Matthew Slater.

Not sure why I was so upset by the use of a 5th round pick for a ST player.

I also remember this one, his dad was a HOF but looking up his numbers at UCLA I was scratching my head too

I love this one. Didn't see it coming. Never ever in my life saw a successful convert of a QB to another position. But he worked so hard and also had that innate clutchness and hunger, it was awesome seeing him become elite at punt returning and then eventually at WR too once Welker left.

You mean the seven-time pro-bowler who has three rings and really knows how to flip a coin?

Crazy thing about McCourty is that he was a GREAT corner in his rookie year. Then his second year he dropped off terribly. They then switched him to safety and he became a terrific safety for many years, and still going strong. But without that switch of positions, he may have flamed out as a corner pretty quickly.

Yeah. Still don't know why he dropped off so badly in 2011. The defense that year was one of the worst of all time, so it's hard to say whether it was because of McCourty's dropoff or vice versa.
