Ceasars: "Patriots roster outside of cornerback 'one of the worst in the NFL'"

I mean he's not wrong. This roster is old and has a dearth of talent on offense and just lost the best QB of all time.

8.5 wins is a generous prediction given the roster. Most of that must be respect for BB and his staff.

For Tom it was the tale of two 1/2s. First 8 games. Last 9.

I forget which thread I published them under but the are cliff-worthy.
The legs go first on old QBs. Just saying.

dearth--an inadequate supply; scarcity; lack: Not buying it.

The Bucs will be in the NFCCG at worst and we'll be 9-7 at best. And honestly it's fine if we do...but we need a QB of the future. Hoyer and Stidham don't cut it beyond next season.

Brady didn't look like he fell off physically in any way last season. Even 75% Tom Brady would be more than enough to get to a conference title game.
Come on!!! You've written off Stidham already without giving him a chance!

At this point I don't think anything can be dismissed.

If Tampa Tom has a similar dropoff we'll have our answer

Tough to take this comment seriously as you gave zero analysis whatsoever, just a list of teams.
Nothing Deus says should be taken seriously.

I don't know about you all but I'm going to love hammering the over on this one.

QB - D at the moment
RB - B. Solid in both run and pass game, good depth.
WR - C. Edelman is still very good. Sanu is a good receiver who was playing hurt. Harry has potential to be very good. But lack of depth is a problem.
TE - F. Just nothing there to be excited about at all.
OL - A. Excellent unit in all ways.
DL - C. Some decent talent there, but on the whole, nothing to write home about.
LB - B. Hightower, Winovich, Bentley are solid.
CB - A+. Top guy in the NFL in Gilmore, and solid everywhere else.
S - B+. McCourty and Chung are still very good.
ST - B. Excellent punter, excellent coverage units, good punt returner in Edelman if they want to put him back there. Mediocre K return, and who knows on the kicker right now.

This isn't the worst roster in the NFL. A few key injuries and it's in rough shape. But a few guys pan out (Harry, Winovich, the K, and especially Stidham), and this is a very very good team.

You're overgrading the OLine. Wynn is injury prone and not clear he's even any good. Cannon regressed badly. Andrews unknown from injury. Thuney may not be here. Scar is gone to fix things. This is a C unit at best. So then your overall offense score is bad when most of their units are bad. Years of terrible drafting by McDaniels

Disagree strongly. Once everyone was back healthy at the end of last season, the OL did a fantastic job, and that was without Andrews still.

Last 6 games (including playoffs):

- at Hou: 5.0 yds per rush, 3 sacks in 47 att
- vs KC: 4.3 yds per rush, 3 sacks in 37 att
- at Cin: 5.5 yds per rush, 2 sacks in 29 att
- vs Buf: 4.1 yds per rush, 0 sacks in 33 att
- vs Mia: 5.0 yds per rush, 1 sack in 29 att
- vs Ten: 4.5 yds per rush, 0 sacks in 37 att

That's really, really good work by the OL.

A Buccaneers fan?

So what? Brady didn't use his legs much anyway...

Not buying that our roster sucks? Good for you...others know better...
Needs legs through. In the Miami he looked like his legs were letting him down.

Scar gone instantly downgrades the line.

They also got exposed not having a TE like Gronk serving as an extra lineman and an elite blocking FB like Devlin clearing out holes for the RB's. I see Devlin unfortunatey retiring.

My surpise pick next week in the first or second round is a C and thought about this when Andrews had to sit out the season. Andrews may feel like he can return, but doctors will have to clear him. Pats need insurance if he doesn't get cleared down the road. Even when he was healthy, Andews was a decent C at best. I was never a huge fan of his.

Won't shock me either way if Thuney is traded or kept next week.

Another suprise early pick could be a T as insurance for Cannon or Wynn. Cannon was pretty bad last year. Wynn getting injured was a big letdown and their line was in shambles for many weeks even when they were winning. Wynn has potential and I like his quick feet, but he had a bad habit of starting games poorly. I saw him doing a lot of chasing but getting bailed out by Brady's quick reads. However, I like how he was durable after retuning.
