Patriots agree to terms with FB Danny Vitale

So maybe BB isn't that high on last year's rookie FB from Germany, Johnson?, or now sees him as depth for Vitale with Devlin done (which I think he is...done)

Considering the Pats lost 2 FBs last year and the guy who ended the season as their FB just signed with another team, adding Vitale makes sense in several ways. It gives them someone who can take over for Develin. It gives them someone who can show Johnson the ropes. And it gives them injury depth.

A pass catching FB....me likey!

The fact that they haven't cut Develin nor has JD retired makes me think that JD is still in the mix...at least until camp.

Just spitballing here, but maybe they see him as more of a TE/H-back?

This kind of signing last October would bring a very different season, postseason and this offseason..

Feeling a bit more comfortable about building a competitive team.....now go and get some TEs and LBs in trade or draft

Could be a sign they are worried about Develin.

Or a sign that they see the FB position as important to the running game. And without Brady the running game will be more important than ever.
BB doesn’t want a FaceBook position

This is a pretty good pick up. He has that swiss army knife appeal. Can do a lot in theory , just hasn't been given the chance in the pros (which could mean he can't) he was known as a "super back" played in the full back, h-back, slot WR , Flex Tight end role.

I like Eason. Jordan Love may fall to 23 as well.
I'm not sure which QB I like better.
Maybe Eason because he seems to been around the game longer and seems he really took things serious after he got bounced from Georgia.
He reminds me of a Drew Bledsoe Aaron Rodgers hybrid and I would gladly take a chance on that right now.
I like Mcdonald more that most because he has a lot of gifts that can't be taught.
Everything he needs maybe could be taught you can teach his athleticism his moxie and his big arm.

As far as Love he reminds me of a Ben Roethlisberger mixed with Derek Carr.

Justin Herbet best pro comparison is a more accurate Josh Allen.
And Allen hurt us with his wheels.

I really like Jalen Hurts in the third I see some doug Flute but he's a better runner.
But he's a winner who makes big plays and compensates his lack or arm strength with a will to win. And competivness.

We have no shot at Burrow and Tua so I won't even pretend to act like we do.

Eason needs a kick in the but that BB could provide if he can get the kid to work you have a franchise QB.

That being said I love Stidham and think at worst he's a poor man's Derek Carr at best he's a rich man's Rich Gannon

He looks like former wrestler Dan the beast Severn.

That’s an interesting addition, because he doesn’t fit their profile at all. He’s smaller but also way more athletic than Develin. His college receiving production hasn’t translated to the NFL, but the physical talent is there.
Rogers doesn't seem to be the sort to like checking down to a full back. He likes to avoid the rush then go downfield.

I thought he looked familiar but until now did not make the Freddy Mercury connection..
The other thought was a young Tom Selleck

CHAMPIONSHIP

This offseason been fire.

Kudos to those making the brave decisions.
