We are on to Wild Card Round, vs Tennessee

Unless the offense miraculously got better i got the titans winning something like 28-17. I wouldn’t bring sanu back. Get some speed at the position.

Its the classica 'Spin the dial' defense from pees which will be the big problem. I hope josh doesnt abandon the run the 2nd or 3rd series just for a change up like he is prone to do and did ysterday. We just need to consistently try and run and run at least twice in the RZ.

this edition of the new england patriots was historically bad (for the Brady/Belichick era) in the second half. The 2019 Pats went 4-4 in the second half, matched only by the 2015 edition who also limped to the finish line at 4-4. The 2015 club managed a bye, beat KC in the divisional round and lost a heartbreaker at Denver 20-18 and were a 2 pt conversion away from a tie game late in the 4th.
The other Pats team to go 4-4 down the stretch was the abysmal 2009 team that found itself down 24-0 in the first quarter to Joe Flacco and Ray Rice in the wildcard round. How does this tie into this thread? Well, should the Patriots lose Saturday, they will be in the discussion for the worst Patriots "playoff" team of the Brady/Belichick dynasty. The 2019 Patriots are neck and neck with 2009 and they are on the verge of becoming, perhaps, one of the most fraudulent 12-4 teams in nfl history. Not only is this team on the precipice of of a not so great spot on the Mantle of Patriots History; watching this team was like fingernails on a chalk board most of the time. Once the defense and special teams stopped scoring (coincidentally once they started playing quality teams after the bye week) Patriots games were not "fun" to watch.
Some might bring up the 2010 club that went 14-2 BUT got bounced in the divisional round by the NYJ....THAT Pats team was at least fun to watch. They lead the league in scoring and got a ton of turnovers - all season. The 2019 Pats created TWENTY SEVEN turnovers in weeks 1-8 and a paltry NINE in weeks 9-16. Face it folks, the defense is not as good as people think it is, was, or ever shall be.
Lets hope our master quarterback gets his answers right, plays well, and avoids leading the 2019 Pats to the seat right next to Adalius Thomas, Joey Galloway, Fred Taylor and the 2009 Patriots.

The last two Titans losses were pretty bad. Vrabel was using delayed blitzes effectively up the middle which neutralized Brady any time he tried to step up in the pocket. I expect to see some of the same.

Winnable game, but certainly not a cake walk. Pats are going to have to play well in every phase. $&@*, they are going to have to play perfect the next 3 games.

Yeah, I would blitz the crap out of Brady as well. The Pats are all sort of banged up right now.

Losing yesterday sucks, but if they somehow make it to the AFCCG it won't matter...coming into this past weekends games the hope was to get a bye, beat KC at home, and head to Baltimore...if they go another route to get there, so be it

Considering Brady has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL against the blitz, that’s what I would expect as well. Lots of Cover-0/Cover-1. Bracket Edelman (who may not even need to be bracketed at this point) and force the ball elsewhere.

Agreed.

And if we're lucky we win at kc and beat Tennessee and maybe the gods gift us a a baltimore one and done.

Hoping Gilmore returns to being the shutdown corner he once was. Can't be giving up big play like we have the past couple of game.

Yeah, I think if you take Jules out of the game, the Pats will struggle. I was actually impressed at how well the Pats O played yesterday, given that Jules was a non factor. And yes, being impressed by THAT is what this year has come to.

Gilmore couldn't handle Parker - Parker is a nightmare match-up...huge and very physical.

They never adjusted to that. They left Gilmore on an island against one of the very few receivers he'd need help against. Really bad. Really bad.
We got a lot of material to work on yesterday, win or lose.

I expect Bill's gonna say, "Hey, guys, we could feel bad about this loss but there isn't time. We've only got five days to get ready for Saturday night. So let's do it."

We're not an explosive offense. But, remember: We can be. Just for four games.

Colts in 06 and both Giants teams looked less than impressive going into the playoffs. Can be done.
2012 Ravens. Despite being 8-2, all their defensive stars were hurt, Flacco was atrocious, and they were overall just putrid. They would go on to three straight losses and four out of the last five games; however at Qualcomm Stadium on November 25, they miraculously took the Chargers into overtime with a field goal by Tucker. The field goal was set up by conversion of a 4th and 29 play where Joe Flacco completed a short pass to Ray Rice and Rice raced 29 yards on the ground for the first down, which would become the 2012 best play of the year (Or worst, that is, for the Patriots). With the surprising 16-13 win, the Ravens moved 9–2, getting revenge for the previous year's loss in San Diego on Sunday Night Football. You know what happened after that.

Parker made "some" plays?

As he said about Tyler Boyd...False Confidence.

He bought into his press clippings and the DPOY talk. He's got a good chance of getting roasted again this weekend.

I remember that.

Also Flacco to Jacoby Jones to tie and eventually beat Denver and Peyton. That was the end of Champ Bailey’s career IIRC

It would be nice if Lacosse could play. He isn’t great but he can catch and he’s a big target.

So if KVN is Adalius Thomas 2.0, who would Gilmore from the 09 team be? Wilhite or Meriwether?
