***** Interesting week 17 moves with possible playoff implications thread *****

I don't understand all the cursing in the OP's thread title.

I think they may be planning to just use Damien Harris in that role who is already on the roster. They haven't used him all year, so I guess what better time than now to use a fresh power back?

I thought we were not playing Harris because in practice he is terrible at blitz pick up and catching the ball and could get Brady killed out there,

Re Harris, check out James White's rookie year. Same mystery.

This is a little off topic but doesn't deserve its own thread. Sports talk radio down here in Atlanta is melting down over the decision to bring back Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff. For some reason 28-3 keeps coming up :D.

Congrats to the Pats for permanently destroying this franchise. It will never recover.

I actually get keeping Dimitroff. I don't get keeping Quinn.

Texans expected to rest multiple starters against Titans in advance of likely playoff game next Saturday, currently slated to host Bills. Among key players who could be rested: Deshaun Watson, Laremy Tunsil, Bradley Roby, DeAndre Hopkins. A.J. McCarron would step in for Watson

Hopefully ten wins, thatd be a travesty if the Steelers get in because the ravens throw the last game and essentially give kc a first round bye.

The Steelers lost out on the playoffs in 2009 when Indy tanked a Jets game in week 16 instead of going for a very doable undefeated season. I can still see the stunned faces of Jeff Saturday and PEDton Manning when they learned that they were being pulled.

The Indiots did this so that the Jets would get in instead of the Steelers, who were known to give Indy much trouble back then. Bill Polian then announced to the mediots that the Pats' loss in 2007 was their excuse for tanking.

It almost worked when Indy got NJ in the AFC title game, but PEDton ended up throwing a pick six against the Saints in the SB for the clincher.

If it comes down to Strength of Victory, then it depends on other games this weekend.

That's the weird part. In the case of the Ten, Pitt, Oak, Ind games, it's possible that Oak can get in if they win and Ten and Pitt lose, but they still may need Indy to win also.

Whew..I’d hate for this to screw up their SB chances..

Raiders can’t get in unless Indy wins. With Indy in the 4 way tiebreaker they have a chance but in a 3 team tie they can’t win the tie breaker

I don't understand him being inactive every week. He looked good in pre-season. It has to be about work ethic or a lack of grasping the offense or something along those lines.

Or it's just the fact that Michel, White, Burkhead and Bolden are ahead of him and he's not outperformed them in practice. And there hasn't been an injury severe enough to one of them to move Harris up the depth chart.

Why does it have to be a work ethic issue or a lack of grasping the offense? As was pointed out in the Miami Game Day Thread, White went through the same thing when the Pats had Blount, Ridley, Vereen, and Bolden ahead of him. White was the backup to Vereen. It's why they turned to Jonas Gray when both Blount and Ridley went down.

Texans reportedly sitting watson and hopkins. Bye bye steelers / raiders

I saw a tweet saying Cleveland didn't make up their mind yet abt Kitchens. That would scare the hell outta me as a potential replacement coach. Speaks to the fact that they still have absolutely 0 clue in how to run a franchise.

As much talent as you can stack. Coming off a promising year with rookie QB who played great. Everything pointing up & you lay this egg. Everyone was bad but Kitchens looked clueless all year. Decision making, clock management, no one looked like they were in a better spot than last year which speaks to development & how well you know your team. You can't go forward with him after acquiring that talent/QB.

Those are 2 big jumps to come to considering the player. I doubt we draft him considering the relationship between Saban & Bill. Everything points to him being a very smart, hard working prospect. He's always shown he could do the little things on the field & handles the unknown well from what I've seen. Watching other prospects last year he put on an impressive display of pass pro. Picking up the blitz/stunts where either his team mates missed their man or it looked like something new thrown at him.
Idk I think it has to do with the guys in front of him even if they haven't lit the world on fire. When healthy Rex has shown to be our most dynamic back. White is an excellent rec threat that improved every year & Sony is a 1st Rd pick. I think we see Harris in the playoffs though bc he can do a little of everything & do it well.

I agree with what you wrote. Which is why his red shirt season doesn't make much sense.
