Why Wasn't Mason Rudolph Suspended?

Ben has a loud Irish whisper & Mason took the beating for him.

Garrett made a poor choice using the race card as his reasoning. He would’ve been better off using the I got hit in the groin defense.

Yea im not buying the racial slur excuse. Garrett looking worse by the day
It doesn't even matter if its true. Someone calling you a slur isn't an excuse to try and kill them.

Or at least the only way I would accept it as an "excuse" if it was followed by admitting that he way over reacted.

So Garrett lied about something that would have put Rudolph into a very bad spot. That needs to be punished. They should add games to Garrett's suspension for that. And mgteich should apologize to Rudolph for making this thread.
Garrett beforehand issued an apology to everyone including Rudolph. Then he lost his appeal and suddenly he plays the race card. Sooner or later, there has to be a penalty, a deterrent for playing the race card falsely, whether in sports or in politics like Smollett and countless others have done.

OK

It is not a suspendible offense to try to tear off a player's helmet, and then get up a move toward the player. I've learned something.

Maybe we'd feel differently if the Rudolph was going after Guy or Simon. Perhaps not.

You made a bad thread. Accept it and move on. If evidence is found that verifies Garrett's claim, then re-visit the thread. It won't change the non-"slur" angle, but it will at least give us the question of whether bad words said on the field should result in suspensions.

This isn't going to help Garrett's argument, but the part in bold is nice general information to learn.

Referee Clete Blakeman, who was in close proximity to Garrett and Rudolph as the fight began, said in the officials’ report he did not hear a racial slur, according to Cabot.

Report: NFL had no recorded sound from the field in Cleveland

Although interior offensive linemen are mic’d up during the game to enhance the audio of the broadcast, specifically sound from the quarterback, that audio is not recorded for use or available after the game is over.

What’s more, there was no audio available from any of the Fox Sports cameras at the game that captured sound from the incident. Camera angles of the struggle between Garrett and Rudolph didn’t provide evidence that a racial slur was used.

NFL had no recorded sound from the field in determining there was no evidence Mason Rudolph hurled a racial slur at Myles Garrett, source says

Garrett was the one mic’d up for the game? Well if the tape is released and I hear it for myself I’ll believe he lied. For now I’ll just call it an unprovable claim. Nfl consistently screws up these sorta situations.
NFL simply doesn't want any more controversy on their precious 100th, it took them a nanosecond to investigate, didn't even interview Browns players. There is no precedent for indefinitely suspending Garrett for an on field incident. Zero.

I see everyone runs to their corner on this, white boys sticking up for the white QB and against the black DE. You can see that little punk Rudolph calling the guy that pushed him from behind a biatch. Rudolph started this mess, then once Garrett was being manhandled by DeCastro tried to go after him, and got slapped again with the helmet. DiCastro throws him to the ground and that punk Punsy hits him and kicks him while he's being held. So you had 3 Steelers beating up (or trying to) Garrett as he was being held. Nice. Reminded me of Rodney King, lol. Of course, nobody sees anything wrong with it. Beat up the black dude. Too bad he missed that rascist little sh$%t. Rudolph is a punk, f$%k him.

Oh and f%$k you all, thats my opinion and you guys can't prove sh%$t about what was said or not said based on your lame theories. Only Rudolph and Garrett know. Nobody else including the lying NFL can say if it did or didn't happen. I believe Garrett, you don't. So what.

My point was the claim makes him look even worse. Should have taken the punishment and moved on.

Saying that someone said something to provoke an act isn't a method invented by minorities. Everybody does it.
Accusing someone of saying something racist to get out of something dumb one did is absolutely a market cornered by minorities. Nobody cares if a white dude gets called a cracker. Doesn’t move the needle.

When it doubt, pull the race card. What an embarrassment.

Rudolf started it. He gives of the impression that he is a punk.

Rudolf grabbed Garrett's facemask first.

Garrett does not have a history of this type of behavior. Garrett said that he cracked. Something was building up all game. The other Browns DL jumped in and pushed baby face Rudolf to the turf. Rather odd thing to do on a whim unless Rudolf was mouthy to him too.

I want to know more if it ever gets out that the Steelers did something wrong.

Looks like ya wrong. Suspend the beast

I see the Detached Logical Men of Reason have arrived with their NFL-provided facts.
You’re deathly afraid of black guys, huh? You know that one isn’t going to appear out of thin air and beat you up for being critical of one of their own right? They’re people. Not the boogey men. You don’t have to live in this obvious constant state of fear of them nor do you have to be some sort of low T white apologist for them like a child trying to appease a bully. Garrett is wrong on this one. No evidence whatsoever supports what he said. Minorities play the racism card to their advantage. These are facts. That works because of spineless white “men” like yourself.

You need to take a look at the video again if you think Rudolph started this mess. Garrett has a history of late hits and "following through" on his tackles. You can see in the video Garrett is still trying to tackle and get Rudolph to the ground long after the ball is thrown. That is the issue. Watch the other videos on Garrett's late hits. There is a consistent theme there. That is the problem.

After I read “He gives of the impression he’s a punk”, my mind short circuited!

If that how you form your opinion, you need help bro.

It’s ok to treat all humans exactly the same. No one has to be more careful or nicer to certain races.

only a phony person would do that. I know white people that think every time they interact with someone of color, they have to act as if they’re an ambassador of the white race!!!

I ****ing hate every single race. White people chief among them. We are the worst, most useless, most spineless race on the entire planet.

Please don’t apologize. Selflessness went out with the Inquisition. We’re all just reaching for that last piece of Lindt candy while knocking down little children and old ladies.
