I agree that Garrett's conduct was unexcusable and it is right for him to be suspended for the rest of the season. [More is not warranted, and probably not allowed under the CBA].
=============
HOWEVER, there were other actions by the league. Rudolph said that he didn't do anything to provoke the incident. ??? Apparently, after being tackled, Rudolph mouthed a racial slur. He then tried to remove Garrett's helmet. Also, as I recall, when he got up, he toward Garrett, continuing the incident.

IMO, if Garrett didn't retaliate (wrongfully), Rudolph would have been suspended. Why wan't he?

Well, I think he only went after another player’s helmet and then charged him.... so...

First, the slur use is not fact. It's a claim by Garrett, denied by Rudolph. Second, Rudolph's physical actions were not suspension-worthy.

Bytch is a racial slur now?

Are you serious or is the some kind of shtick?

So Garrett lied about something that would have put Rudolph into a very bad spot. That needs to be punished. They should add games to Garrett's suspension for that. And mgteich should apologize to Rudolph for making this thread.

Nobody believes Garrett’s claim of a racial slur being used. If I had the power I would suspend him for next season too for trying to maliciously destroy another players reputation.

How can we prove he lied? We don’t have proof he said it but I don’t think we have evidence to punish him for lying.

A lack of evidence that something was said isn't proof of a lie.

I call total, 100% B.S. on the claim of a racial slur. That would have come out immediately if it were true, not 1 week after the fact.

Garrett was just playing the race card in a desperate hail mary to mitigate his suspension.

Gee, maybe because there's only about 1,000 cameras and microphones at an NFL game? Those might come in handy if trying to prove something someone did or didn't say.

To be fair, his story was the get go that Mason said something to him that upset him. I’m not saying this is proof it’s true tho.

So we don’t trust the nfl when it has anything to do with the Patriots but when it fits our agenda we fully trust them lol?

He made an accusation. He was mic'd up. The NFL investigated, and found no evidence of it happening. No player has supported the accusation. The accused has denied the allegation.

He lied. He made a serious accusation without any evidence to support his claim, despite all sorts of avenues available which might have picked up such evidence had it happened. Call it whichever you prefer.
