Two Curran downers re: Brady

It's funny how quickly people turn on a legend simply because he's showing some frustration about his job not currently going as well as he wants it to.
This right here. The same fickle imbeciles defending Sony and Newhouse are the first ones to bash Brady for not being all sunshine and rainbows. The offense isn’t playing well and he’s pissed. He has every right to be pissed. He’s 42 and he knows he doesn’t get to play forever and he’s stuck with the single worst left tackle he’s ever had by a mile, a possession receiver we traded a second for, an 83 year old TE backed up by a couple of injury prone JAGs, a plodder of an RB who offers nearly nothing in the passing game, and his go-to guy gets doubled constantly. I hate to say it (and even believe it) but I really think he wished we kept AB.

Who knows maybe we bring back AB and dare Goodell to suspend him with no credible evidence of wrong doing.

You can’t (unlike some here) simultaneously claim that Brady is some saint taking less for the good of the team and that Belichick is coldly low-balling him.
Which is why I am not

I don't think there is a doubt he wishes AB were still here. I don't think thats the sole reason but perhaps it contributes to his frustration. I don't think he is necessarily pissed at someone but frustrated at the aggregate of things that have not gone his way.

Bolded can't be serious lol?

I think it's more then abundantly clear he wanted to keep AB.

Not a stretch to think an old QB playing w rookies/udfa would want a HOF talent to throw to.

Tom didn’t even post his usual video after a win. Maybe he is pissed off.

Letting go of AB made sense because he was surely headed for the exempt list.

Letting go of DT less than a week after signing the aforementioned powder keg (who inevitably blew), was a massive lapse in judgment by BB; Brady (and Pats fans) have every right to critique that decision and be a tad pissed about it.

I would even argue that keeping someone like Maurice Harris around would have been wise, although with how deep the roster was at that point, I suppose there really wasn’t room for him at the expense of a surely superior player.

The Brady to LA Chargers is becoming more real.

In 2020

Melvin Gordon 27
Austin Ekeler 25
Keenan Allen 28
Mike Williams 26
Hunter Henry 26

Add 1 HOF QB who doesnt throw an INT every 5th pass and a TE, shake and there you have a Super Bowl caliber offense.
You think Tom is pissed now? Give him one year with the Chargers and he’ll be pulling his hair out

Be interesting to see how pouting Tom comported himself last year after the Buffalo game at Gillette where he played like absolute garbage but the team won...to the game last Sunday where he played poorly, but not as terrible as he was vs Buffalo, but the team won...

Lots of folks getting really sick of the sad Tom, pouting Tom act...

I just really hate bringing AB into any conversation as it all turns into the same “Krafty Bob went to a massage parlor!!” and all that crap.

I thought the story always was that what makes Brady great is that he is not depend on having "extremely talented" skill players. Or was that the story people tried to conjure up to marginalise Manning ?

The story has always been that he does more with less. Earlier in his career and last year show you that. But he’s not making a chicken sandwich out of chicken ****. 2013 and 2006 should show you that. As great as he is, he’s not going to look good when the only guy that he has who can beat the press... read that again: the ONLY GUY THAT HE HAS WHO CAN BEAT THE PRESS... is getting bracket coverage while his blindside is getting protected by Marshall Newhouse. The difference then was that even in times when his weapons were lacking (2006, for example) they still had Light protecting his blindside. Then Vollmer, Solder, and Brown. Now he has Newhouse and a crew of receivers that have to have balls thrown low and away because there is constantly traffic in the area and they can’t get open consistently.

Last year he had a top 5 OL in the league, a great running game, three good-to-great options on the inside with Edelman, White and Gronk and pretty much nothing outside. That is not a bad situation.

And they won the Super Bowl. This year, their TEs are among the worst in the league, he’s working with two rookies, he’s lost maybe the best receiver in the league (Brown) after one game and another guy who had his trust in Gordon. That he’s near the top in terms of passing yardage should tell you how ridiculous your stance is.

This year the situation on offense is still a mess but guess what ? He has an elite defense to fall back on while they are trying to figure themselves out on offense while getting talented players back from IR.

I think it will get better as soon as this week. Wynn’s reintroduction to the offense means that Brady will at least get more time in the pocket. I’m not sure it will get to the point that it was at in the beginning of the year, when he looked like the best QB in all of football, but at least it can hopefully be complimentary football.

Finally, Brady is not taking any heat at all. This is laughable. He is essentially football Jesus here.

Would you like to make a bet on that? Within 30 minutes, I could produce more than a fair share of posts where Brady is taking a ton of heat. Some of those posts have been from me in the GDT. He’s taking heat just like the rest of the offense is. That’s true on here and that’s true in the media. The guy that bought the groceries and handed them over isn’t even taking as much heat as Brady is.

That doesn't explain him consistently missing open receivers. Or throwing one pick per game. There's no doubt the TE's and receivers sans Edelman and Sanu suck though.
Can you tell me the plays you’re talking about? It’s pretty common knowledge that Brady is throwing into some of the tightest windows of his career. He was doing that at points last season, too. The amount of balls that are thrown low and away should tell you that. He’s doing that to protect his guys because there is constantly traffic around.

Yep. Aside from Edelman no one is getting open. Sanu looked good against the Ravens but was lost yesterday. Everyone else is getting zero separation and he’s chucking the ball in the dirt as a result.

In this thread, I don't think people are giving enough attention to what happens when an offensive play must be executed in a more limited timeframe than usual. It's like any sport. The defense knows you're limited, so they become more aggressive, and your problems begin to cascade. To be successful on offense, you need the defense on its heels. This goes for multiple sports.

Defenses are condensing the field on the Patriots because they know the Patriots can't hurt you in much of it.

I get the frustration I really do. BUT he is a team leader and has always prided himself on being the BEST teammate. This moping crap is not a good look , especially for his younger team mates. No one feels sorry for him, because injuries and some GM decisions did not work out well.

I would like to see his leadership comments shine through and see him supporting his team mates.

Lots of folks have been sick of your act on the GDT for years.

Fact is TB has been an instrumental part of the greatest dynasty ever. What have you given us?

Brady is obviously declining. He's 42. You can blame injuries or the other players, but what made Brady special in the past is that he could overcome those things. He could throw so accurately that he could make completions to covered receivers. Go back to his prime and watch the tape.

Brady is the greatest athlete in Boston history. He might be the greatest athlete in the history of pro sports. There are some people who will never admit that Brady could ever decline, even when he's 75. That's just the way some personalities manifest loyalty. I'm not here to argue with them. Brady has more than earned their loyalty.

Meanwhile, despite the forgivable decline of a 42 year old QB, the team is 9-1 and has a great shot at yet another SB title. We are truly blessed to be Patriots fans during this time. It's very likely that no NFL fandom will ever be this blessed, in fact. So whether you believe Brady has declined or not, be grateful for what he has given and give him some leeway to deal with this difficult time in his life.

Weird he hasn't posted his usual IG post after a win video. Almost always out by now.

I can't be the only one that feels this year feels strange with him. Just little things this year that are starting to snowball it seems and with next year up in the air....Not helping my confidence in Brady retiring a Patriot.

Just my Tuesday thought

Why are people acting like he’s never been pissy before? He was pissy when they traded Mankins and grew a beard in solidarity. He was pissy when they let Welker go and seemingly same with AB. He was so pissy early last year he just launched the ball to no one seemingly on purpose against Detroit. He’s a fiery guy. You can’t praise him for nearly tackling Bledsoe in the tunnel before SB 36 out of excitement or sprinting into the end zone after Edelman returns a punt for a TD to celebrate with him and then scold him for showing emotion when when things aren’t going well.
