NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 11: Other Games Thread

I do wonder if a player of Garrett’s caliber had been playing for a major contender or NFL darling team would the penalty be as tough?

Remember. Von Miller was gone for the year for manipulating his piss test but because he was on Gomers team he got that cut in half.

For swinging a helmet? Doesn’t matter what team he plays for the NFLs response would be the same.

Rudolph’s helmet was only ripped off because he tried to rip off Garrett’s.

It’s karma.

Rudolph shouldn’t start crap he can’t finish.
You’re ******ed if you think that warranted ripping his helmet off and then bouncing it off his head. Normal people would be spending a night in jail for that.

So both the Browns and the Steelers will benefit from these suspensions. Neither was making the playoffs anyways, and now with these players being suspended, they are going to improve their draft position. Seems wrong.

Is Rudolph getting fined? I don’t think he did anything suspension worthy, but certainly should be fined.

Why such a big punishment for Pouncey? I feel like he’s been suspended before. That would make sense.

Pouncey kicked him in the head. That’s assault with a deadly weapon, same as a helmet.

The only guy who kept his head together was DeCastro. He prevented Rudolph from getting brained and then was on top of Garrett basically protecting him from Pouncey.

I'm old enough to remember people calling Myles dirty before tonight. If im missing anything please let me know but this is why it's hard to take some of this "outrage" serious.

Some were calling him dirty for the hit on TS & a love tap to Walker.

A love tap ?

What is this apologist ********. He punched him.

Similarly he should have been already suspended for how he demolished TS not once BUT TWICE in exactly the same manner after the play was over within a handful of snaps. The second one ended the QBs season. The repeated nature of it is what makes it look bad.

Yesterday was just the culmination of the behaviour of a player with some type of anger issues. He is tremendously talented and a great DE but this type of **** has no place on the field.

But in the end it is just the signature of a John Dorsey team and ultimately the reason why they will never win anything in this configuration.

You would think with the new crossover with the WWE that you guys would better be able to discern what a body slam is.

2:48 in. How many body slams end up with the slammer on the bottom?

You have no idea what the hell you're talking about, and I wasn't the one talking about body slams.

Pouncey did not kick him in the head. Pouncey's kick was blocked by a leg.

Garrett went way overboard. But there are real consequences in life when you start crap.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

So smart ass what exactly do I need glasses for then? You quoted my post talking about how it was not a body slam.

I was talking about the entirety of your posts. Watch the videos again, this time with something to help your vision.

It should be telling to you that even his own team, the freakin' Bengals, has completely distanced itself from this guy. It should be telling to you that his own teammates have distanced himself from this guy. It should be telling to you that almost to a man, the players throughout the league are laying the blame squarely on Garrett.

And before you go any further, note that I'm not one calling for more suspension time for Barrett, and I'm not one who likes the softness of today's sports, I'm not one who likes the leagues interfering in player justice outside of calls on the field, and I expressly noted that this became a problem only because that idiot used the helmet as a weapon.

But you're trying to lay blame on the guy who was clearly the victim of a needless, and mindless, assault with an object capable of causing real harm. And that's pathetic.

From Garrett:

“Last night, I made a terrible mistake. I lost my cool and what I did was selfish and unacceptable. I know that we are all responsible for our actions and I can only prove my true character through my actions moving forward. I want to apologize to Mason Rudolph, my teammates, our entire organization, our fans and to the NFL. I know I have to be accountable for what happened, learn from my mistake and I fully intend to do so.”

Myles Garrett issues a statement of apology through the Browns

What Garrett did last night was dirty. The week 2 hit was dirty.

You're making a fool of yourself over an indefensible action. You should probably just take the day off.
Been called worse by a lot better posters.

Two undisciplined, chucklehead organizations, the Browns and Steelers, each fined $250K for that display of garbage last night. Pats paid $1m to massage Ted Wells' deflated balls. Yet another example of the NYJFL being more concerned about faux "cheating" than actual injury to players and "the integrity of the game."

Rudolph, a Class A idiot himself, could have suffered a concussion or much worse when that Class A+ idiot, Myles Garrett, tried to crown him. What a ****show.

It all starts with these two "class" organizations.

I don’t disagree with that, but drop the helmet and use your fists like a man. Only a ***** wears a helmet, goes up against a guy without a helmet, and still has to use a weapon. He deserves the year off. That’s one the NFL actually got right.
