NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 11: Other Games Thread

Garrett for the remainder of the year and playoffs. Plus possible additional punishment.

Pouncey 3 games

I'm missing something. Garrett drives Rudolph into the ground, long after the ball has been released and potentially injuring/dislocating his shoulder, and Rudolph is the instigator? Garrett should have been flagged/ejected for roughing the passer. Rudolph had every right to be upset with Garrett.

Garett has been dirty in terms of QB hits through some of this season. This is apparently just par for the course with him.

There has to be Zero Tolerance for Garrett's actions. With all these penalty rules put in for Helmet hits, Garret could have easily concussed, maimed or even killed Rudolph with blow to his head.
It wouldn't surprise me with social media pressures, etc that legal action will be filed against Garrett from Rudolph's Agent, Steelers Org.

Solid response from the NFL on this one (rarely can I say that). Absolutely no place in the game for that kind of crap.

This will be the nail in the coffin for Kitchens. His team has zero composure even when they win.

Pouncey needs to appeal, and win.

I’m surprised Rudolph got off with nothing being the instigator (kicking nuts, pulling the helmet off).

I was just about to write this. Everything in this punishment seems well thought out except that part. I can’t decide if I think he should get one game or zero.

I turned the game off because I was falling asleep not even a minute before the fight..d%#*!@t, my timing is impeccable.
I seriously don’t get this “Rudolph started it” talk... watch the entire sequence- Garrett tackles Rudolph well after the ball has left his hand...& proceeds to drive him to the ground. Mason struggles/tries to get Myles off of him from the very beginning, and justifiably so, as it is a late, unnecessary and illegal hit.

Yes or no - a helmet blow to the unprotected head of a man can kill him?
Full force, clean swing from a guy like Myles? Sure.

That's not even close to what happened though. Mason didn't even flinch or miss a beat holding his arms out.

Look it was a terrible scene, inexcusable. That said people are hurting themselves climbing on a soapbox & telling on themselves in the process. A football player went nuts in a game, I'm just not anymore shocked or outraged then when I saw Big Al, AJ/CF fight & none tbh "shocked" me.

Anyone close to football knows crazy **** happens in practice or locker rooms all the time.
Anyone that's played hockey has been in "boxing" fights in the locker room. Sometimes we'd use gloves/no helmets.

Obviously Myles took it to another level but again he's a football who went nuts & overreacted after someone got him fired up. Dumb move but hardly earth shattering news.

???

Watch the video again. Rudolph definitely flinched and ducked. If he hadn’t, he would have gotten his skull cracked open. A normal person gets taken out in handcuffs if they do that in front of thousands of people and a bunch of cops.

Btw I'm organizing a vigil at the Boston Commons tonight for anyone that doesn't want to be alone.

Times like this EVERYONE needs someone to lean on.

Mason's punishment and that of the Steelers is that he continues to play.

Yeah, he’s Checkdown Charlie. He did earn my respect though. Big set of balls to go after Garrett without a helmet.

I'm old enough to remember people calling Myles dirty before tonight. If im missing anything please let me know but this is why it's hard to take some of this "outrage" serious.

Some were calling him dirty for the hit on TS & a love tap to Walker.

Good point. My perspective up until now was that Rudolph at least deserves part of the blame for being the clear instigator (and what Garrett did was technically giving Rudolph a taste of his own medicine). But what Garrett did was way disproportionate to what Rudolph did, and there's no excuse for it.

Never bring a head to a helmet fight.

Nothing to see here - he's a non factor for this season

What Garrett did last night was dirty. The week 2 hit was dirty.

You're making a fool of yourself over an indefensible action. You should probably just take the day off.
