Raise your hand if you had these guys giving up 6.8 points per game through 5?

Many of us right here are predicting this D was going to be historic. It was obvious in TC that this group was smart, veteran, athletic, fast and upgraded with some great pickups.

They also got the greatest DC in NFL history to slice down the HC job a bit and concentrate on this unit.

.

Operation torch. And not the passing of any torches

Well, hats off. I always have high (sometimes unrealistic expectations), but this...

..not in my lifetime. They could realistically end the season at 14 ppg or less. Astonishing.

Personally Im very happy that we involved Michel in the passing game.

My biggest gripe with how TB played today is him locking down on some receivers sometimes, especially Gordon.

I think it was Ken that mentioned it earlier...Johnson had a very good game lead blocking. Re-watching the 2nd half now and yeah...he did a great job.

Even though they really have yet to be tested with a good quarterback the defense continue to look good.

The offense is still a concern though. I know the 33 points looke good on paper but they left a ton of points on the board. Plus Washington is the worst defensive team in the league I think.

What's with the blocking on the special teams field goal unit? Twice there was a rusher out wide that they just ignored who came in totally unblocked and nearly blocked the kick - the missed point after and the ball hitting the upright. So looked to me that was a possible reason for those two poor kicks.

Please. I also remember many of the same people in December of last year declaring that this defense - with essentially the same people - as the reason we would be ‘one and done’, after giving up 412 yards to the Dolphins and 376 yards to Pitt in back to back games.

We beat up a girl.

I agree with you on both sides of the ball - we're getting ahead of ourselves. We don't know whether these guys are just focused and thorough when beating up bad teams, or are just that good. Dak Prescott is healthy, right? That might provide a test.

If he is too wide to get there, nothing is wrong.

I like Zo when he is right in the sweet spot of his drunk afternoon. But that is a sensitive equilibrium.
Must be some type of Ballmer Peak for announcers then?

This is the IT version of the Ballmer Peak.

The differences between then and now are significant.

  • Collins
  • Winovich
  • Bennett
  • Shelton actually being an NFL-level D
  • Improved play by the young'uns at CB behind Gilmore and McCourty
  • Hightower moving much better
  • Bentley not on IR

team needs another wr....
