Content Post OT-ish: The gambling thread

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.
Cam has a lisfranc injury and is out indefinitely. He hasn’t played in a couple of weeks. The main reason why they were able to get going last week was because Kyle Allen looked good and put the ball in the hands of playmakers. In my opinion, we may have a totally different Panthers team moving forward.

You wonder how many “franchise” QBs are making the team worse despite being the face of the franchise. Eli Manning and Cam Newton are two we’ve just seen...and I think Cam has been bringing them down for a while...this isn’t just the recent injuries. Get a real passer back there and suddenly the team changes...like Tebow being replaced by Manning and all of a sudden Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker are great WRs instead of busts.

I'm a degenerate so....

Brother I'm so bad I forgot I took Seattle early in the week, lol. My wife needs to heal up faster, it's obvious I can't properly care for both her and my bad habits at the same time.

Think about all the sweet wins you can stack up the longer she stays on the shelf

I'm thinking stacking up W's might take more attention to detail than forgetting a $150 bet implies lol. On the other hand I did have a pretty damn good week...hmmm

That's like finding hard, crispy money in your pocket after you left the house...not a bad thing!

$300 Pats -16.

I feel like I should streamline this whole operation by just giving the money directly to bovada's investors. Not to hate on my team but other than like 4 drives I'm not seeing an offense capable of winning by 16 on the road yet.

The Redskins are terrible on offense. I could easily see something like 27-7

We have a weird time with rookie QBs since we're apparently big on game planning around trends/tendencies. How many flash in the pan or mediocre QBs have come in against us and done half decent? It's not all of them but it's more than a couple.

So I could totally see a game where their defense plays better at home and has a chip on their shoulder since everyone has written them off and we win 13-3.

Good to see you psyching yourself up for a big payday

Almost forgot, jumped on a few attractive early lines. KC -8, AZ +4, NE -14

So here is the 1st week we will start keeping the record. Last week it was 8-7 ATS. Looking for another winning week to kick it off.

Where are you drawing the live spread from? Currently I am seeing New England -15 to -15 1/2

That would make sense. No matter how early I jump I almost never seem to get to the open number when I want it. Maybe you should title that column "OPEN'

Yeah, it goes both ways though. I figure it's the best way to go. Other wise I could line shop and try to skew the lines, like to think I wouldn't, but ya never know. So it keeps me honest.

And the suggestion is noted.

I hope everyone will look at the betting trends to once and for all squash the oft repeated false idea that Vegas sets lines to attract equal betting.

Go on. Because from where I'm sitting that's exactly why lines move - to avoid exposure after the initial lines failed to bring in a sustainable amount of risk.

Im not following... the more they have to move the line means the more of a chance they have to get middled which is terrible for them.
