It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The PS is very flexible in that you can release and bring back players from it without waivers involved. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to increase the PS, but it wouldn’t really be necessary. We talk about a shadow roster which is not feasible, but a a shadow practice squad is. You could have several players come on and go off the PS depending on what positions are needed.
No. It would not effect PS players moving to the 53 man roster of another team at any time. Teams would just have to prepare for it. Yes, some PS players would make more than the PS minimum as they do now and more of a team’s cap will have to be set aside for PS transactions.

While I root for the guy in his battle within, I think expecting Gordon to last the whole season is optimistic. Whether Crabtree is the right contingency is another issue. Why

BB is a huge fan of James Develin, I remember when he broke his leg BB went there to check, he never does that.
If there is a chance he comes back one spot is guaranteed to him but you don't take risks with neck and disk injuries.
My preference is for Wynn and Harry, Wynn because there is a huge need and Harry because if this dude doesn't play one snap this year then it's a wasted pick. The need for WR might come up anytime.
Exactly.
This is a redshirt year for Harry.
Unless we lose JE or Josh Harry can stay home and play video games
I don't agree with this thinking...I believe that larger roster sizes & less-restrictive IR rules benefit any team like the Pats who can maintain superior college/pro scouting & development programs ...The more players allowed in the building means the better the chances of discovering & coaching talent - young, cheap talent - that can provide depth late in the season & POs.fair enough
However, I believe that many players at the bottom of the roster might be put on IR, just in case, and others hired and put on the 53.
In any case, the larger the roster, the LESS the advantage to the patriots. The more restrictions, the better for the patriots. The more complicated any rules or situations, the better for the patriots. For example, the patriots would BENEFIT from a 45 man roster, since they would be hurt much less than other teams...
If all stays in the present I'd rather have Wynn and Devwhy?
1. Harry needs to practice
2. He could be a very good player we could use this year, we don't know yet
3. Josh could fall back to his old self around weeks 13-19. I'm not predicting a JE injury but Gordon not finishing the season is probable. Would leave you with JE, Dorsett and Meyers. Major trouble.
Having a true run blocking FB in today’s game is rare thing, so the “next man up” has the odds against him. In fact, their running game is clearly better when Develin is on the field. He’s by far their best run blocking FB since Sam Gash.I think that it might be significant but also have heard other opinions that suggest it’s not a doomsday scenario. Bedard for instance seems to believe it will not be a critical difference in the running game and that the next man up can fill the role adequately.
If all three were available I think it’d be a no brainer to bring Wynn and Harry off of IR as they’d make the bigger impact.

Depending on the health of players, Wynn and Develin are my picks. Harry will rarely see the ball if the current crew is healthy.
Hmmmm..
Gash v Dev.
Tough one.
