Get ready for something special guys and gals. Potential to be the best Patriots team of brady's career.

We all know the offense is going to be high powered and borderline unstoppable but what really has me excited is the defense. The Steelers were helpless offensively and this was without the Patriots getting much pressure. They were just locked down.

I desperately need an update on Cannon.
You realize you won't get one right? We'll be lucky to hear anything before the midweek injury report, and then it'll just say 'Cannon - Shoulder, limited'

Cannon will definitely be out for a while. Just hope it's not season ending.

Gordon didn't look all that rusty.

Pressure wasn't there today but we also faced a top 3 OL

That is it. Was thinking the 33 was cool but the 3 was the best part. That SB win really dud something to this team. It really did.

Early assessment looks like Pats, KC, and Ravens. KC may not have the D to hang and Ravens probably don't have the O.
The Ravens are a mirage. They played a horrible team that's already quit on the season. Jackson is a fraud.

Looking forward to the real test this D will have against the likes of KC.

They have been doing it in practice. I remember people commenting on how the offense looked stagnant early in camp and I thought well yeah this defense is really good and has the potential to be the best in the league...then the joint practices and preseason games came and all looked solid despite the depleted (sounds comical to say now) WR corps due to injuries and a suspension.

I know Michaels touched on it tonight. Obviously I get your point, and game speed etc...but this defense is the real deal. Wouldn't be shocked if they gave up around 220 points for the year.

Thoughts on the game. This is an initial reaction without looking at any replays or gifs really.

QB - Brady had a rough start but really settled in. That being the case I would say there weren't too many hard passes and a number of questionable plays. By his standard it was an average day, but any other standard it was a good game. Grade: B

WR - A good night for this group. Gordon, Edelman and Dorsett all had good games. That being the case Dorsett got some easy cheap yards while Gordon/Edelman made some good plays and earned theirs against superior defenders and coverage. Also a Meyers shout out on his one nice catch! Unit Grade: A- Edelman A, Gordon A, Dorsett: B

TE - N/A - I imagine until Watson is back this group will not be used much.

OL - Wynn was the star of this unit. First start against a hard match up but he held up well. Thuney was fine, not overly impressive. Besides 1-2 bad plays Cannon did well before going out. :( Hoping for good news there. Mason had a solid game but again got very little push. Karras? Lol. Besides the snaps he did okay. Not good but okay. A solid workman night overall. Unit Grade: B- Wynn: A Karras: C- Cannon: B- Mason: B-, Thuney: B-

RB/FB - Not Michel's night. Up the middle wasn't there and he did little to make a play himself. For as much as we like Michel he's limited player and that should be held against him to some degree. White again proved he is the true star of this unit and unstoppable in small doses. Burkhead looked sudden and strong tonight. More so than I recalled him being last year. Unit grade: B White: A Burk: B+ Michel: C- Develin: B

DL - Hung in there vs a tough unit. They won the running battle but lost the pass rush battle. Shelton and Guy where the Stars here but neither had a stand out game. Particularly Shelton was good IMO. The biggest disappointment here was Bennett who was invisible mostly. I give Wise no credit for his sack. That was on Ben. the Simon PD was a nice call play but should have been a pick. Shame. He was only okay. Yhey clogged it up and did okay even without getting much pressure themselves. Unit Grade: B- Shelton: B+ Guy: B Bennett: C-, Wise: C- Simon: C+

LB - This ig getting a bit long so I'll be short here. A great show by this unit. The DBs stole the show on D but this unit came to play. Winovich played just enough to get a grade but it doesn't count much towards the total grade. Unit Grade: A- Collins: A, Bentley: B+ Hightower: B+ Winovivh: B+

DB - Elite. Pretty much top to bottom this unit balled. Jones is the big story here as he is already making his extension look like a smart more. If he keeps this up or close to it with what we already have then holy moly! Unit Grade: A Gilmore: A J. Jones: A+ J. McCourty: A Jackson: B D. McCourty: A+ Chung: A Harmon B+

STs: Besides one shanked punt but Bailey this was a good night. Gunner was the star here as was the punt/kick defense. Gost made his kicks but those are ones he should make. Unit Grade: A- Gunner: A.

This play will be in the blooper file for decades.

LOL. Going to be such a shame when Tomlin is fired. I’m not sure he will finish the season as Steelers HC.

How about we give the Ravens some credit. They are a very talented team, and Jackson the fraud will be offensive player of the week for week 1. Obviously I disagree with you that Jackson is a fraud, threw some great passes last year, and looks much improved this year.

You have to beat the teams they put out in front of you, so regardless how bad they are, it still counts.

That being said, it’ll be interesting to see what they do against a good team.

To every non-medicine man on here...admit it...you googled subluxation too...
I didn't...I've known what that diagnosis is for 40 years at least

Tomlin at it again...difficult environment to play...won't go into the minutia of it...or what circumstances transpired....

Yeah you would get out coached by the HC of Foxboro high...you just suck Mike.

No one likes a know it all Joker. I have a joke involving a special organ but don't want to offend anyone and have my post deleted...again!
