You're saying a team like Arizona would look at Gunner and go, "nah, we couldn't find anything to do with that guy."
The Cardinals are going to use their first spot in the waiver line for Gunner?

I think Meyers has a better chance, but I'm honestly wondering if either makes it right now.

Wait I thought everyone was sure 2 weeks ago that Meyers was Pro Bowl quality let alone starter and that Dorsett wasn’t worthy of holding Meyers’ jockstrap. Now suddenly he can’t make the team? How the mighty have fallen.

After an hour Gunner running 4th behind both and neither..............

BUT...

1) We only have 1 or 2 TE. I would keep him over Lacosse.

2) They only have 7 healthy OL that are ''worth'' keeping on 53

3) Edelman, DT and Gordon have ??? on their healthy status. Even Harry.

4) He is at least for now a better WR than Gunner.

5) He will probably be claimed and others won't. So why would you keep eg Skipper over him?

Keeping over Lacosse is a possibility, but then you have Kendricks coming back week 2 and Watson week 5. So I guess for the purpose of this question (making the 53 in week 1) that would do it, but I'm not sure he'd last beyond that.

Having 7 healthy OL worth keeping doesn't mean we're going to only keep 7 OL. Chances are one of the guys we traded for sticks, or we add another. We're not going 7 deep there all season, IMO.

Literally no one has said that.

Me thinks that too much weight is being given to a 4th practice game, simply because that's what we fans have visibility in to.

Where did I say that? It was an example a talent needy team.

Meyers is making the team. He’d be starting week 1 on some other more WR desperate Patriots teams. Way too good a camp/preseason. Now instead of getting thrown in the fire like Thompkins he gets a chance to develop behind proven vets.

Gunner is interesting man. Between the hustle on that tackle, his quicks at WR/KR/PR & looking good on 29 snaps at CB it shows he has talent (unlike Berrios). He defines either last man on the 53 or first man on the PS. I do think with development you have yourself a KR/PR & decent depth WR or CB.

Gunner is not ready for a 53 man roster. I hope we don't lose him and I'd hope he'd choose our PS to others but if some team wants to put him on the 53 then so be it. I think he makes to our PS.

Meyers I hope makes our 53 but pretty sure he's making someone's. I doubt we cut him. I don't think it's close between the 2 which one is more ready now.

FYI, it's not like fantasy sports where the waiver wire order resets after you claim a guy. The Cardinals have first choice on anyone they want. If they claim 50 guys at cut down, they get all 50.

Well they are first in the waiver order so if they wanted him they would have to take him over every other released player. Otherwise they would hope he clears waivers from the other 30 teams and then sign him to the 53.

Well I'll be darned. That being said I still doubt Gunner gets claimed.

Meyers is insurance for JG, DT and JE. He would see little action if the other guys are there. Dorsett and Harry also fill that role. Gunner might also learn that role, but he plays now as PR and KR. Brings more value IMO.

It’s not a matter of finding something to do with him it’s a matter of being good enough to cut one of the players that made your roster.
Other than being liked by some fans I don’t see what would make this guy a legitimate candidate to be claimed off waivers. I see 0.0% chance a team would him. Many better players will be cut, including by the patriots.

More than 5 WRs are not a need and will take a need away from another area. WR5 is only a need in the event of injury and wr6 only sees the field on a limited basis with 2 injuries and sees significant use if there are 3. No other position has that depth in numbers.
Belichick will have to view Dorsett as vital because he expects a high chance of getting hit with injuries AND feels Meyers is a liability right now who can’t be trusted on the field while keeping both would also mean despite Meyers being a liability if put in the field he is a can’t miss guy who will play a huge role in the future.
It’s possible, but would be an unusual move for bb.
Gunner has absolutely zero chance but will be a good addition to the ps.

Lol would be a classic Bill move to cut both and claim a guy that nobody has heard of off somebody else's cut downs.

Gunnar is the next Jules. I like the idea of putting Harry on IR with return designation and taking both.

I don't think BB keeps him but he gets claimed. Does happen...whether that player sticks on a squad for more than a few weeks is a different thing.

No need to. N'keal is healthy.
