This is the only part of your post that I’d disagree with, and that’s simply because 1) they no longer have to designate anyone, and can simply bring back whoever is on track after missing the required time at any point in the season, and 2) I don’t think it would be necessary to worry about these players, anyway. Do either of these players have PS eligibility remaining? It doesn’t seem like they’ve played too much, so that’s why I bring it up.On Sunday the Pats put Rivers and Calhoun on returnable IR

Great call at QB and CB. Ultimately, keeping both Dawson and Crossen seems like a good move, even if one is technically a ST only player. I agree that Burkhead would be the odd man out, but I think that could go 50/50, as it’s difficult to predict where Bill will “count” guys like Bolden (ST?) and Devlin (TE?).
I just noticed that you have extra players at LB and ST. Was that an accident or is this a “poster’s choice” type of deal?
I think that would be a bad guess. The EARLIEST if have heard for him to be off the blood thinners is 3 months. That would take him to December before he could even be on the practice field. and its not like he can continue to work out the next 3 months. His activities are going to be limited. More likely he is going to be on thinners for 4-6 months. So David is NOT coming back this season.
Here's my shot at it.

Burkhead is traded to the Texans for a 5th rounder in the 2021 draft.
Roberts traded to Detroit for a conditional 6th in 2020
And in my best Soup Nazi voice, "only ONE Jew for you" and sadly Nate Ebner is gone
On Sunday the Pats put Rivers and Calhoun on returnable IR and bring back Ebner and Thomas. Both aren't subject to waivers, so they can be brought back after Rivers and Calhoun go on IR
Explanations - 6 RB who ALL can run and catch is just too many. Rex is gone because of his contract, his injury history, and he is replaced with Harris who can do everything Rex can do and has more upside.
Hoyer stays because he is simply better than Stidham is right now though that could change by November.
I just have a feeling that BOTH Cunningham and Eleumeanor are not here for the long haul. Just one will stay for the season, and Cole Crosten who seems to have pictures of Bill and Linda so we could see him or some other Saturday OL cut back
I'm keeping both Crossen and Malafanu. Crossen is my Slater in training as well as CB depth, and Obi is my binky, as well as some much needed youth and size at the S position. He's worth the slot long term. We certainly should give him as much time as we gave Richards. He's a much better prospect. AND he's my binky. Did I mention that?

One spot: Who do you guys rather have?
Rivers - He is cheap and has one more yr on his rookie deal. He is improving. I don't see him playing a lot this season if we stay healthy. I would IR him and stash him for next year.
Calhoum - Was playing well, but is injuried and behind the depth chart. I would waive him.
Hoyer - I don't know if Brady goes down he is much better than Stidham. I would give the rookie the edge and trade or cut him.
Parry - I would love to stash him on PS. Our DT line is signed for next year except for Butler.
Dawson - So... nothing to add here. Looks like a reach. The kid is a 2nd round STer. Try to trade him and move on. I don't think they will. They seem to give guys they use prime capital a lot of chances to develop.
Gunner - Hard cut but we have a lot of guys that can be our returners i would love to stash him.
Munson - My pick. We have HT and Bentley signed for next year. KVN will be very expensive (i am not saying he will sign elsywhere) and Collins if he plays well he will ge paid too. So Munson is showing a lot of upside and he sticks.
Here's my shot at it.

REALLY? That's too bad.You have 54 players.
The fix is easy. You have too many DB's: 12 including Crossen. Actually, you have 13 when Ebner is back on Sunday.
So, my prediction is that we will have fewer than 13 defensive backs come Sunday evening. I suspect that two will be gone before Game 2.
No, you can put Your house on it.Gunner is a lock, book it, put your house on it.
I don't know if rivers will be cut or not but ive thought from the begining that it would be awfully hard for a rookie to be injured during his first pre-season to come back. To much time lost.Thought Rivers would amount to something. At this point, why would we even want NE to put him on IR ? He’s no too shown (1) he can stay healthy, nor (2) produce when on the field.
It’s too bad, but let’s move on from him completely.
