I would not be surprised to see them try to trade Dorsett to a WR needy team. He doesn’t offer anything on special teams and he doesn’t have the upside of a Meyers or Berrios.

Don't think Dorsett has any trade value...........

He won contested catches and jump balls. He often looked covered (and frankly was).

Isn't it just important that he catches the ball?

Are you in some sort of Style Fantasy League?

.

You are right it was just coincidence Tom Brady averaged 56 more yards passing per game with Josh Gordon in the lineup.
Games with Gordon 8-3
Games without Gordon 6-2

3 of the 8 games without Gordon were without Edelman and 1 was the 270 rushing yard game against Buffalo, so correlation is shaky at best.

Would a defense pay extra attention to Gordon when he is on the field ?
Of course. Never said Gordon did y contribute.
I says he wasn’t excellent. Which is true.

Diddnt the pats have a higher winning percentage without Gronk in the lineup at one point ?

Not an Andier thing will ever be said lmfao
Exactly. Because it’s true.

Gordon was not excellent. People deflecting from that by arguing tangentially doesn’t change that.

But go ahead explain how Gordon was excellent. Super. Stud. All pro

The WR position is officially log jammed. I assume DT will want to start week 1 to try to hit his incentives.

Edelman, Gorden, Harry Meyers, Dorsett, Thomas. That is 6 and frankly 1 more than you need. While I hate to walk away from a player in the TB circle of trust Dorsett is cuttable. He is due 2.6M and only .5M is on the books. DT can be cut as well. I think he is only getting paid 150K for sure with the rest TBD.

While clearly Thomas has more upside there is a real question here. Do you want 3 players in the WR core that Brady has never played with? IDK if we do. IT worked out in 2007 but those were amazing players who were ready to rock the league week 1 and had been pros for a while.

"learn a new system"

You know he was here last year right?

It helps to actually READ what is being said.

Shmessy is saying that Gordan came in LAST YEAR Midseason and learned a new system on the fly. Which is exactly what he did.

MOSS, on the other hand, joined the team at the draft and had plenty of time prior to the start of the season to learn the play-book, work with Brady, and be on the same page..

Don’t know. Only posted that to show correlation isn’t causation and many stats are stupid and misused.

I actually agree

Yeah, other than the fact that he is only 26, is the fastest WR on the team, knows the system well and was one of the most reliable receivers in the NFL.....no upside. lol

He's 28........... but yeah I agree with the gist of your post. Don't let me stop you. :)

By September moss was in the team 4 months and practiced less than 1.
By November Gordon was on the team 2 months and practiced 2.
Are you telling me that being in the roster during non football time makes you more attuned to the system than being at practice? Seriously?
Did Gordon look like moss in November?

9-2 with Gordon if BB/Flores didn't throw Gronk out there to play defense on the last play of the Miami game..........

.

Andy. Let’s put up a poll. Let’s see if the site thinks 1000 yard pace and adding 65 yards of offense to Brady per game — with no camp and no preseason and no week 1 or 2 When he was injured is.

A. Excellent
B. Just ok

Don't think they are better than the 14 team. Gronk. Edelman. Amendola. Vereen on offense. Wilfork, Revis, Browner, McCourty, and Hightower on defense. That team was loaded top to bottom. Gronk tips the scale in favor of the 14 team imo.

Not sure mate. Pretty sure our defense is better now. Let's see if Jackson is the sensation I think he is. And I think we have a better running game too. So let's see.

New England topped the league with 30.4 ppg in 2014. With 19.9 ppg against. But we're likely to play a different style of game now. If you rely on a running heavy game like we did late in the season, both teams have fewer possessions during the game and have less ppg.

Last year we have 27.7 ppg and were 4th. We had 20.4 ppg against which was 6th. I think we can match the 28ppg we scored and have a reduction in points against with 17-18ppg for close to tops on league. Think we can match the 10-11ppg difference of the 2014 team but in a more controlled game and manner so wins will look easier and less chaotic.

When did I say he had no advantage?
It was suggested Gordon was handicapped because he came in late.
In fact it was asked how could you expect anything great.
Moss barely practiced before the season.

I didnt say it was identical I said it was similar.
If you want to believe that Gordon had no chance and never learned the offense and was running around without a clue, go ahead. I don’t buy it.

Do I think he would have broken records had he been here since May? Of course not. Do I think he could have done better? Certainly. And I certainly think he can have a better season this year.

Considering the amount of WRs that come here and never get on the same page with Tom, seeing the trust he showed in Gordon pretty quickly was impressive. I see no reason not to expect that chemistry to improve this season.

Earlier you said he wasn't special, dominant or game changing. That's fine. He won't be taking the roster spot of anyone special, dominant or game changing.
