JOSH GORDON REINSTATED

Lazar did some analysis on the Brady-Josh connection and basically on catches inside 15 yards his QBR was absurdly high and on throws > 15yds it stunk.
Brady's QBR on throws > 15 yards always stinks, no matter who he targets.

Both of you should be proud of your hard work and accomplishments. Your discipline has allowed you to have results that many never see. Nice job.
The strange aspect of addiction is that removing them from our lives and living free of their awful power over our minds & bodies is easier than continuing down our destructive paths

It’s getting to the point of getting help that’s painful

Its really pretty shocking. I gave up booze a few years ago, went from way too much daily to nothing, cold turkey. Lucked out and no withdrawal symptoms. Among the easiest things I've done, after about a decade of telling myself everything was under control.

I heard plenty of reformed alkies say "The only way it works is if you want it." One of the truest things to be said about addictions.

If you were able to quit on your own, good for you! I couldn’t and joined a group that helped save my life. It’s a sneaky illness that never goes away.

I heard people say that alcoholism progresses even as we stay sober in my early days of sobriety. But I didn’t care about the future then, I just wanted to learn how to live a sober & productive life.

After a few years, a member that had been sober for 26 years started to drink again and we stopped seeing him. A few months later, we heard he passed away in a drunken stupor

After being sober a long time, I got a new job. I found out one of my coworkers was sober too. His name was Bob and he’d call me now & then asking me how I’ve stayed sober so long. He had done it on his own and stayed sober for around 10 years.

Around 5 years ago, I was told he started up his Harley in his garage and kept the door closed so he could leave this world and his kids behind

It’s not simply about quitting drinking and it’s a horrendous disease that tears people up

It’s actually among the very few best in the nfl.

Do you have a link to explore that stat? I've had trouble finding breakdowns of ratings by distance. One analysis ranked Brady 10th in the league on deep balls in 2017; I can only assume that 2018 was worse, given the state of the receiving corps.

Probably not.

We were and are a better football team with Gordon, that shouldn't be a discussion especially not over a full season.

Brady was much more efficient when throwing the ball when JG was on the field compared to when he was not. We went 8-2 with Josh and averaged 31 per game.

The success of the entire team doesn't translate into an argument for Gordon being important this is not how anything works. Success (or lack of) != Performance.

Nobody is saying he is a bad player. But I think there is an interesting discussion to be had about this team being overall more consistent and efficient when it relies less on the "deeper game" because it is inherently lower percentage than the usual short/intermediate "bread and butter" offense mixed with the occasional dagger down the seam or via a double move.

They were slinging it to Cooks, that year.

You're talking about a connection that had no training camp to develop chemistry. They would probably be way better with a TC (which he's missing again now, thanks Rodger!).

Thanks for sharing your story. I’m glad to see that you have chosen sobriety. I don’t think a lot of people here understand just how damaging alcohol is to many people, and how it is constantly being flaunted at social events like it’s not a big deal. Imagine at Robert Kraft’s ring celebration they gave everyone a glass of water and two OxyContin pills to relax and celebrate. People would think that’s insane and be outraged. But toasting a glass of champagne creates the same type of long-lasting problems for many people, even though alcoholic beverages are “legal.”

I don't think we need to go out of our way to lust over Gordon, he'll either be there or he won't, don't forget we also have N'Keal Harry to flesh out the receiving corps, and I actually have a lot of faith in Harry to be the man on contested catches.

Brandon Powell on Patriots WR Josh Gordon: He dusts everyone

“If you train with him, you wouldn’t even know that he’s suspended or anything,” said Lions receiver Brandon Powell, who has worked out with Gordon for the past two years. “He came to work every day, worked as hard as anybody there.”

In one drill this spring, Gordon ran on a sand volleyball court with two resistance bands attached to his waist. He caught passes as he changed direction in the sand. For another (slightly more intense) workout, Gordon ran a wind-sprint while dragging a 75-pound plate behind him. Then there was a creative stadium workout. Instead of running stairs, Powell and Gordon raced each other up the spiral concourse at a local football stadium.

“It’s like watching a horse run,” Powell said. “He goes from zero to 100. To be so big and run like that, it’s pretty crazy…We run conditioning on the track — 100s, 150s — and he dusts everybody.”

He may be a little faster this time around (Please come back :D ).

Badly want him back soon and sober.
