That's good for YOU.

He may want to live a few more decades without a wheelchair.

These ARE human beings, folks.

.

people be like, 'he gotta play for my enjoyment and entertainment, if he ends up in a wheelchair in 15 years, who cares.'

:D

You asked a question about why he might want to come back. I gave an answer, which I gladly admit is speculation.

None of us have the first clue what Gronk is really thinking, nor do we know his true health status. There really is no need for you to be so pissy over my speculation and your weeping and wailing about him spending his life in a wheelchair has zero basis in reality.

I say it's 40 60
I hope Brady is in his ear everyday.

I hope not. I rather see this guy walk for a few decades than see him play for a couple games and get his back destroyed.

I say there’s a 40% chance he comes back this year and a 67% chance he comes back at some point.

Maybe he enjoys playing football and going to Super Bowls?
And playing with the GOAT.

Brady is not a BS artist so all the Instagram's of him and Gronk implying that it's not over are money in the bank that Gonk will be back.

The same Nancy boys worried about wheel chairs will be dancing on the roof when Gonk is back.

I still don't see Gronk coming back THIS season. But have much more hope that he returns NEXT season. But I want to double down on a previous post when I proposed Gronk coming back as a boundary WR.

Think about it. (again) He ran a 4.7 as a 275lb TE. It isn't at all unreasonable to picture him as a 235lb 6’6 WR who can run a 4.6. (or better) What CB is going to cover THAT, even if they can run with him. No longer would he have to pass and run block 290 lb DE’s. No longer would he constantly be required to run routes that get him crushed by multiple LB’s and S’s. No longer getting hit multiple times just to off the LOS

I really think THIS is the best way to get Gronk back to us for the rest of Brady's career
Picture a rejuvenated Gronk, taking about 70% fewer big hits, being covered by 180lb CB’s, running free in opposing secondaries. Brady might NEVER retire.

Gronk ran a 4.7 at what 22 years old? Even with the weight loss he’s not running a 4.7 anymore.

And Tom Brady ran a 5.2 at 22, and a 5.1 at 42. Also don't forget that Gronk ran that 4.7 at 275 lbs. I would suggest that he would very likely speed up running at 40 lbs less.

I now am coming to believe that we will get to see who is right....NEXT season.

Ain't liking this thread title.

Gronk’s pro day he weighed in at 258 and ran a 4.68. I believe he generally played around 268 so I would say in his prime he ran around a 4.7. Nine years in the NFL, multiple back surgeries, a torn ACL, and nine years of natural aging I would say he loses at least a 10th in the 40. Gronk said he lost about 20 lbs and he puts himself around 250. Maybe that helps a very small amount speedwise. If you watch early career highlights and then the last year or so you can see he isn’t as fast as he was even at an All-Pro level 2 years ago.

Ive known some big guys who did not look strong but were surprisingly powerful.

Rob Gronkowski Confirms Working Out with Tom Brady, 'It Was Great!'

I believe Gronk retired due to reasons around mental burn out, his body was banged up and the fact BB was going to press him to redo his deal. Granted his body has taken a pounding but there is nothing (to my knowledge) wrong physically which is forcing him into retirement (although its certainly a good decision).

If he had another 75/1000/12TD year and was making $12m in 2019 he'd be playing.

Because neither one of those happened he is calling it quits.

I don't know what to make of this little catch session with Tom.

Gronk is one flakey dude.

The money part is easily rectified by Brady bestowing some of his pay to Gronk. Done it before with other players.

If youre truly retired and have closed the door, you file retirement papers with the NFL. You dont ride the fence in interviews on whether you might change your mind once the season begins. And, you dont show up to be filmed catching footballs from a QB who wants to you back on the team.

Brady and Gronk are playing the media and fans like a fiddle. It began last year and Brady wouldnt waste his time if Gronk is truly gone because there would be no purpose in keeping the charade alive. I dont recall a single time where Brady has been a practical joker.

No. Its not a cap issue. They aren't going to take "Brady Money" and give it to Gronk if they don't think Gronk is worthy of it.

Just a reminder that Gronk is definitely coming back.

I did not state that this is a cap issue.

This is a BB moths coming out of his wallet issue. If Brady wants Gronk back the money will be there.

Its not a cash flow issue.

What money are you talking about then? How much do you think Gronk will come back for. Next question is how much will the NEP be willing to pay for less than a full season's work?

I wonder if this would create problems with the league. I mean even if he comes back at his old cap hit (which I would doubt) we basically cheated our way to temporarily more cap room to get some other players in there. Then we extend Brady in August and have created the room again.
