Mike Freeman - Gronk comeback?

Gronk appeared on the Rich Eisen show today and claims that while he has lost weight, it’s not quite what the pics show. He said he weighs 250 lbs, down from 260-270.

More importantly, he reaffirmed the idea of staying retired, but did add at the end, “call me when you get to the playoffs.”

Lighter Rob Gronkowski enjoying retired life . . . at least right now

I still don't see Gronk coming back THIS season. But have much more hope that he returns NEXT season. But I want to double down on a previous post when I proposed Gronk coming back as a boundary WR.

Think about it. (again) He ran a 4.7 as a 275lb TE. It isn't at all unreasonable to picture him as a 235lb 6’6 WR who can run a 4.6. (or better) What CB is going to cover THAT, even if they can run with him. No longer would he have to pass and run block 290 lb DE’s. No longer would he constantly be required to run routes that get him crushed by multiple LB’s and S’s. No longer getting hit multiple times just to off the LOS

I really think THIS is the best way to get Gronk back to us for the rest of Brady's career
Picture a rejuvenated Gronk, taking about 70% fewer big hits, being covered by 180lb CB’s, running free in opposing secondaries. Brady might NEVER retire.

In regards to entertaining the idea of Gronk returning for the postseason, what would have to happen in terms of league rules/roster rules?

I mean...can he hypothetically return at any point, or is there a deadline where they’d have to include him on the roster? Is it just as simple as him filing paperwork and being taken off of the retirement list?

interesting thought. if he does come back as a slimmed down WR, we are going to miss his blocking skills...

Then and now ...

He has to be added to the roster by week 13.

He is not wrestling either.

Samoa Joe would break him half in two.

I hope he doesn't come back. I hope he lets his body heal and he enjoys life. 9 Surgeries is enough, He gave us so much he has nothing left to prove. Go on and live a long happy life and always remember that all Patriots fans thank you for giving you all had

Some people will continue to hit their heads on the wall.
The same people wonder where the lumps came from.

the stupidity does not know boundaries

The real reason Gronk will never come back is due to the fact that quite simply:

Brady is 6/9 in Superbowls.

You guys can stop inquiring now...:D

Lennon and Harrison faked their deaths.

Beatles - Gillette Stadium - next Saturday night.

Totally irrelevant statistics...

Gronkowski: Games Played - 115 / Targets - 794
Edelman: Games Played - 115 / Targets - 749
