...Is Russell Wilson on his way out of Seattle?

Wilson is a top 5 most overrated player in sports.

Get back to me he leads anything close to an elite offense, ever. His champion teammates hate/d him.

This was a weird story few months back when it first was reported, but seems like there's too much smoke for there to be something here...this would be the best healthy player to ever jump teams in NFL history..wouldn't it?
Reggie White, Marshall Faulk, Eric ****erson, Deion Sanders, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens....

I agree. When Seattle won it was with an all time great D and the best rushing attack in the league. Wilson wasn’t asked to do much. He needed to be babied by Pete Carrol which led to resentment amongst his teammates. He’s a good QB but he’s not as great as he’s made out to be.

Is Wilson sitting out? I don't think so. Seattle should be ready to franchise him for 2 years if necessary.

Mahomes is going to be a nightmare for a long time. I'm glad we went up against Manning all those years instead of him :D
I like Mahomes too, but I'm not ready to anoint him just yet. One hit can change all that. He still has a lot to learn.

Mahomes = Brett Favre, an excellent gunslinger QB. It remains to be seen whether he can win in the playoffs.

I agree. Mahomes is really talented but his penchant for making blind throws will lead to big interceptions, and interceptions kill playoff runs.

I assume he means NYG and not the Jetes...

Russell Wilson hasn’t won anything since 2013; true. However, he’s an elite QB & is very underrated IMHO. He’s been carrying the SEA franchise ever since the LOB hey-days. Highly intelligent football player, extremely mobile, leadership ability, poised, tough, championship pedigree & can sling it with the best of them. His Achilles heal is fumbling. Yeah, Mahomes is exxxcellent, but he also fell into the perfect situation/scheme with Andy Reid, a loaded offense & D with 3 excellent pass rushers. Not ready to anoint him just yet. Remember, this is the proverbial “sophomore slump” year for Mahomes. His first year, he only played sparingly. Wilson has been CARRYING that franchise with like 2 weapons, no running game & NO O-LINE.

Dude, it’s one good season. Give me a break. It does Forehead a disservice. He’s 5-times NFL MVP.

He’s not a leader in anyway. That was made clear by everything that was coming out of Seattle the last few years.

He’s been CARRYING them? To what exactly? They squeaked in a wild card spot last year and missed the playoffs the year before.

Did you see the numbers he put up? If Dee Ford didn’t lineup offside they were in the Super Bowl.....

If Dee Ford didn't lineup offside maybe Brady doesn't get pressure from Dee Ford and doesn't toss it up to Gronk. Maybe Gronk is not distracted by the yellow flag thrown and easily catches the football.

Let's not play the "if only" game.

God told Russell Wilson to do it. Just saying.

I hope Seattle digs in their heels here, IMO.

Tying a player's pay as a %-age of the cap will take away one thing that made the Pats very good the last 20 years...out smarting other teams in utilizing economical advantages.

This is a weird story. Seahawks could conceivably tag him twice before his price tag is out of control (roughly 52 million). Seems like his wife wants him to head to the Meadowlands

OK Cousins, this is a 'tease" for my 10th annual DW Toys "Trade-A-Rama" but it makes sense.

What we know:
The Hawks are in CAP hell. They are at $10,897mm.
Wilson CAP is $25mm
Frank Clark CAP is $17mm (more on that later)
Wilson wants out and has set a deadline
Schneider is desperate for picks in this Draft. They have only 4 picks in a pretty sporty Draft class.
(This almost sounds like Draft Day stuff? Where's Sonny?)

Now lets kick the tires on.............. Oakland
The Raiders are at $32,147mm
Carr has a CAP of $22mm
We know even though he praises Carr, Gruden is not necessarily tied to Carr and lip service has been underwhelming.
The Raiders also need an edge rusher.

My DW Toys"Trade-A-Rama" super-duper Trade? A shocker!

>The Raiders trade picks #4, #24 and #27 and Derek Carr

>The Seahawks trade Russell Wilson, Frank Clark and pick #21

The Hawks now have new CAP room.
The get a QB who is 4 years younger
They move a QB who wants to leave Seattle and CA and Vegas will suit Russ and the Mrs.
They have the picks to replace Clark and rebuild the sagging Defense
They could not pay for Wilson. He set a deadline.
The best they get if he leaves is a 3rd comp.

The Raiders get a top tier QB they can afford to extend right now
They get a EDGE guy they need to replace Mack
They still retain at least one first rounder
AB was best when Ben extended plays. That is what Wilson can bring to the table.
Wilson to AB? Watch out AFC West

This is a Gruden type move

OK, Take your shots.....Thoughts?

Nah, Mahomes. Wilson is up there though. Nobody scares me more than Mahomes. And he's only going to get better.
I think Mahomes might be coming back down to earth. Teams will learn how to defend him and the only reason he makes some of his unconventional throws is because he's young. His arm can't take that forever.

Seattle will prob need to overpay him, he’s the only draw left for them
