Golden Tate to NYG

Really need to hit on 2 WRs in this draft. The cupboards are down to a box of Mac and Cheese.

Eddie Edelman is up in years and Dorsett 26 is on a 1 year deal Hogan might be back but he was almost invisible at times last season. Gordon is too erratic upstairs. Sure would like to have better recieving weapons than last year.

Josh Gordon is obviously playing next year so y’all need to chill out

The Patriots economic system does not allow for overpaying a WR like Tate, getting outbid by the NYG is not a bad thing as the Giants have sucked on finding, developing and retaining NFL talent.. with Eli at the helm things will not change all that much..

Tate is 30 years old(8 NFL Seasons), and Humphries is 26(4 NFL Seasons) their stats are comparable, age may be a factor here..

That’s fine. No one who ever played in Detroit or Ohio needs to come here. Send our jags there where they belong

Gordon will be here so it’s all good. Oh hell!

He’s from ****ing Ohio christ

I see WR trade for a vet who has a "signability issue" coming ala Cooks plus drafting a WR mid round or maybe in the 3rd if someone is there they really like.

Eff him. I’m sick of hearing about him for the past year.

Me too. I mean, he’s a jag from Detriot, no rings, no titles, no accomplishment

Sign Demariyus Thomas. Not sure if Dez Bryant is under contract with the Saints but if he can play at some point this season after recovering from ACL, he'd be a nice pick up. If Josh Gordon is back, I think we might be okay.

Jules
Dorsett
Thomas
Gordon/Bryant
Berrios

This lineup would have been so much scarier few yrs ago. Brady has played with far less talent before.

I trust BB and the system. I am not yet concerned/worried about our offense.

Edit: I forgot Cobb and Jordy Nelson. They are not in their prime either but are good route runners, especially Cobb.

At what point do you learn that we have way more history than necessary to know they know what they are doing, it will work out, and we don’t have a game for 6 months?
Relax. Enjoy the success rather than trying to the first one to guess there is a failure coming.
Yeah, I hate to sound like a "in bill we trust" guy, but his way has kinda worked. A lil bit, anyway.

Seriously we have the GOAT and no one besides White and Edelman for him to throw to. It's like having a sports car that never gets taken out of the driveway.

I never understood that logic.

If you have a QB and a OC that can elevate above average players to be impactful then the rational thing to do is to focus more of your resources on the parts of the team they can't affect. In an offense that is at its best when they are unpredictable and spread the ball around going for "stars" or "established" players have more diminishing returns than addressing other parts of the team.

Hell the SB against the Rams is the perfect microcosm of that. Eventually Brady and McD found the right way to attack the opponents even with an offense that included Develin, Allen and Hogan. At the same time the investments into the defense paid off huge through the entire playoff run.

As everyone else I'd love to see Brady surrounded by absurd talent just for the entertainment value but then again I also enjoy deep postseason runs.

Gotta appreciate how your last sentence is calling Nelson and Cobb bad route runners but a few lines further up you are curious about a player in Dez Bryant who can't run routes, can't separate, is not mentally tough at all and has spend the entirety of last year recovering from a devastating injury.

Nelson is actually pretty damn good at running routes. He'd be close to the perfect fit imo especially as an outside option.

I actually stated Cobb is a good route runner.I didn't specifically state that about Nelson. We may not even sign any of them but if we were, I'd prefer Nelson and Cobb over Bryant.

Pats did not want to pay that much salary to a free agent WR. Looks like we are hoping to draft a WR and overcome our 10 year curse at that position.

Pats drafted WRs since 2009:
Julian Edelman, Brandon Tate, Taylor Price, Jeremy Ebert, Josh Boyce, Aaron Dobson, Jeremy Gallon, Devin Lucien, Malcolm Mitchell, Braxton Berrios.

Yeah, not exactly a list of successes there in an entire decade of drafts outside of one notable exception.

10 WRs in 9 years.

IIRC over that same period Squealers have drafted 23

I think Demaryius Thomas fits the “Bill.” He has an achilles injury plus the recent arrest that will scare off most teams.
